We had 3 days with great breakfasts and evening meals The location was a lovely village- theAcorn is a beautiful old building with great accommodation. The first day we had a problem with the shower. Within 10 minutes we were given a lovely room with a four poster bed where we stayed throughout

The staff were wonderful and always tried to accommodate any guests' needs. Location was perfect; room very close to main dining/bar area, and clean and tidy. Venue was quiet, and guest parking perfect. And a great range of beers!

Everything was spotlessly clean and the lodge was comfortable and had everything we needed (including some milk for a cup of tea). The bathroom facilities were excellent- clean and modern. The location was lovely - set deep in the Dorset countryside and it was lovely see the horses and foals in the surrounding fields. We enjoyed our one night stay and will definitely return when next in the area.

Such a lovely location. Couldn’t fault the staff and our accommodation. Very efficiently run and lovely relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast perfect. We had our evening meals there for the 3 days we stayed - excellent. The change of our room due to the fault with the shower was a bonus . Loved every minute

Evershot is a very picturesque village with Thomas Hardy connections.
A good base for exploring South Dorset. The Acorn Inn is to be recommended. There is a village shop/post office but it is very sparsely stocked with basic goods. A substantial grocery shop entails either a car journey or an on-line delivery,
The surrounding roads are very narrow with blind bends and must be driven with extreme caution.

Evershot is a beautiful jewel of an English country village, with golden stone-built cottages. Scenic country walks are available through the Melbury House Estate, including its spectacular deer park, farmland and lakeside views. Red Carnation Hotels operate both the premium Summer Lodge Hotel and also the historic Acorn Inn, both of which offer great food and a great welcome to guests, with hospitality which make the stay truly memorable. The Summer Lodge Hotel also benefits from a super spa and wellness centre which we very much enjoyed. The village also benefits from a local shop with giftware, a bakery and a charming church.

Fantastic village pub/hotel in the lovely Evershot.
Fantastic village pub/hotel in the lovely Evershot. This was our second visit and out first trip out since the Covid 19 lock-down ended and it didn't disappoint. Staff were all excellent and socially distant rules were followed by all. The room was great and the food and drink top notch. The weather was great which meant you could sit outside on the patio or use the beer garden. All in all a super couple of nights and will return for sure.
Thank you

Location excellent with good local walks. Staff very welcoming, polite and efficient. Plenty of parking behind the hotel. Evening meal was very good indeed. Lots of breakfast choice with some more unusual offerings such as smoked salmon, eggs benedict. There's a lounge area for guests. Tables in the restaurant quite well spaced which makes for better conversation volume and of course some COVID avoidance ( as of today quite important we feel).
We enjoyed the meet and greet from Buster, the decor inside the hotel was colourful and interesting, our room had a view of the gardens ( No 7), tea making facilities and delicious homemade shortbread. Cocktail hour in the lounge with the fire was fabulous as was the sommelier and the restaurant service and food.
Beautiful location. Friendly service from the moment we arrived. Nothing too much trouble. Made us a sandwich to keep us going even though out of normal meal times. Lovely breakfast choices and evening meals. Dog friendly. Great to be able to use amenities at Summer Lodge Hotel just across the road.
A really delightful hotel. Everything worked, nothing was too much trouble, food was excellent and the staff were uniformly helpful and pleasant. Spa was great and all were very accepting and welcoming towards dogs.
The feel of the hotel is relaxed and comfortable. We asked for a quiet room and that is what we got. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. The chef is amazing. The best we have had in Dorset.
