A perfect one night stay. I needed accommodation at short notice in Carlisle /Penrith area and didn’t want to stay in national chains.
So glad I found this . It was in a rural location but still close enough to major routes. The staff were friendly, room clean and tidy. Great home cooked food on the menu and for breakfast the chef even arrived early when I said I would be leaving before the breakfast opening times. A perfect stay and will definitely be back.

Location was fantastic in a beautiful village, loads of walks around the village then back to the pub for a couple of pints and a superb dinner, lt was great staying on the edge of thr lake district 14 miles north of Keswick rather than in centres where you can't move for tourists. There is a local restaurant, if its sunny, you can walk to Skelton and sit on the bench outside for a beer, but inside its a very nice gastro restaurant for meals only. The Boot & Shoe is the best local pub which is an 8min drive away and is also very nice.
