The room was beautiful and nicely renovated, while keeping with the historic aspect of the property. It appears that there are many places to tuck away and to enjoy quiet time, which was a plus. We hope to be back during the work week to be able to fully experience what the proper has to offer.

Breakfast was very good as was the service. The room was very small and next to the hotel dustbins which were overflowing. Would have liked to open a window but the bins made it unpleasant to do so. The room smelled of cooking. The room was not cleaned during our three night stay and there was nowhere to hung the bath towels to dry. I did not realise this would be the case before booking the room. We ate in the hotel one night and the food was good.
The purpose for our stay was to visit family nearby we chose it because it was described as “ refurbished boutique hotel with emphasis on comfort and relaxation” we found it to be a pub for bikers and walkers, with rooms, not at all how it is described.
I was visiting my parents, so not as a tourist.
There are lovely walks nearby and the roads are popular with cyclists.
The local shops (those at walking distance from the hotel) are friendly
You can get a good Indian meal at Yasmin.
The Italian Cafe/Deli (Annare?) is good, with some tempting treats. It's very popular and rightly so.
There are buses to Guildford. It's quite a distance to the railway station, and don't expect a lot of taxis.
The Duke of Wellington pub does good meals and drinks and has lots of outdoor seating.

My room was taty and not very clean.
My room was taty and not very clean. Bathroom came with a broken sink and after I flushed the toilet had to wait 3 minutes for the water from the tap. The carpet on the corridor was held together with gaffer tape. The whole place had a very dated feel. Not worth the money.

East Horsley is a convenient place to stay with many places to visit in the surrounding areas.
The Surrey Hills are very picturesque. Guildford is close by and I would recommend taking the park and ride which is en-route from the hotel. RHS Wisley is stunning and I would also recommend a visit to Pyrford Lock and Dorking.
Staff were very helpful, especially Romanian lady on reception, who gave us fan and extra towels. Breakfast was good. Our room was fine although I heard another guest moan about the state of theirs, which the receptionist arranged to move them. This hotel has great potential to be better than it is. Lovely gardens .
Room was comfortable. Meal on Friday night was very good and service was excellent.
Breakfast on Sunday morning was what we had expected, and have experienced at other Hotels IE plenty of choice. Issues raised with the duty Manager, when we checked out.
The hotel is in a nice location and perfect for our planned trip. The room was a decent size for the three of us (2 adults 1 child).
The food was good, value for money overall.
