Beautiful property ideally located on the promenade. Room was well maintained and spacious, very comfortable and overlooking the sea. Staff were exceptional and very friendly. Pete was very welcoming and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. He clearly loves his job and is an excellent ambassador for the Halvard Hotel. I used the cinema one evening. The girls at reception were charming and the cinema had a nice feel to it.

We know the Isle of Man very well and although Douglas has suffered through the current financial crisis, it is still a good city to visit. The museum is free and very informative. The tour of the government building likewise. It is easy to get around the city and buses to other parts of the island are plentiful. There is a range of restaurants to suit every pocket and we also cane home with Isle of Man kippers. People are friendly, including the lovely staff at the Hydro. I would always encourage visitors to make Douglas a base and travel all over the Island. Peel, Ramsey and Castletown all are worth a visit and offer differing aspects of the Island.

Douglas is a seaside town with most places in close...
Douglas is a seaside town with most places in close proximity to each other; the ferry terminal and Tourists Information Centre, the shops, cafés, pubs, banks, museum, and the two seafront theatres. The Villa Marina is a large theatre and cinema. The Gaiety Theatre is a smaller and most charming old theatre. Further down the Seafront is The Palace Cinema. I enjoyed a good film there. Comfortable seats. There a nice chippies around the town. The bus route Douglas to Ramsey along the coast road has stunning views. The other main towns are quick and easy to get to on bus, and the airport too. That's just half hour away.
What can I say ….. We were greeted by the owner Kim, what a lovely genuine lady that couldn’t do enough for us, we requested rooms close together as we where travelling with parents which resulted in Kim upgrading one of our rooms to accommodate this request👍🏼
The accommodation was right next to the electric tram and horse tram so easy to explore the wonderful Isle of Man 👍🏼
I don’t normally write reviews unless unhappy however this hotel is a little gem and I would defiantly recommend 😃
The hotel was modern and had some lovely decor and well displayed posters of the isle of man.The toiletries In the bathroom were of a good quality and the tea making facilities were well stocked daily..The hotel had some lovely little touches like chocolates and a sleepy tea bag which were placed on our bed each evening..
The dining room was very traditional and the choice at breakfast was extensive and would suit all tastes.
Handy for the ferry and for traveling to other towns. The three day travel pass is a great idea and it would have been good to get that information from staff and maybe some leaflets about places of interest.
It was good having the lift.
Nice clean friendly hotel.
Plenty of choice at breakfast . Only dined in once but nice carvery.
Many hotels now have the reuse of towels which makes a lot of sense.
Let's start with the likes:
- I liked the location (I had to stay in Douglas overnight)
- I liked the friendly staff at the hotel
- I liked the fact that everything was prepared in time (paperwork etc.)
- I liked the breakfast (very nice!)
- I liked the WiFi-quality
- I liked the fact that I was able to park my car right outside the hotel
Excellent stay at Sea Breeze and Delia was very hospitable and welcoming and gave some great advice about visiting the Isle of Man. The room was clean and comfortable. The guest house is located in a convenient place near Douglas Promenade and its just a few mins walk to the beach. The town centre is 7 or 8 mins walk away.
The hotel is in a brilliant place, it’s beautiful and comfortable. The food is great, the staff are super friendly, helpful with all things. We had an emergency trip to A & E with our son as he was quite ill and the hotel was wonderful! The Isle of Man is a very special place! The hotel is extremely good value indeed!
The hotel offered an amazing menu for breakfast that we were very impressed with. The hotel itself was in a perfect location in Douglas and so easy to get to from the ferry port. The architecture of the building was stunning and the owners and staff were so friendly, we definitely recommend this hotel to others.
Staff extremely friendly and informative, housekeeping staff could not have been more helpful either. Room, clean and warm, beds comfortable, tea tray well stocked and very useful having the small fridge. Hotel position ideal for exploring Douglas. Pan Asian restaurant in hotel is excellent and well priced.
tasty and value breakfast, TV + internet, only 5 minute walk to beach and 10 mins to centre of Douglas, car parking - given a badge for restricted areas around IoM and told where to park during stay only 5 min walk from hotel. Provided pack up on last morning when we left early for ferry
Very good location overlooking Douglas Bay. Being out of tourist season, it was nice and quiet. The breakfast was complimentary, and there is a nice room with a view outside onto the bay. It was great as a solo traveler like me. If I return to the Isle of Man, I would stay again.
Accommodations were very comfortable and clean with a separate bed, linen, and towels provided for each of us (4 in total). The kitchen was handy and well provided. Good access to the connected hotel. Helpful management. Wonderful food at the hotel restaurant.
Nice small hotel, typical of Douglas seafront hotels but very nicely done up. Location - great views of the sea from our large bay windows & just around the corner from the pedestrian shopping street. 5 - 10 min walk to main bus stop. Lovely breakfast too.
Breakfast was well cooked and nicely presented. An important message, for less mobile visitors, is that this hotel has a lift. There are many similar hotels along the front in Douglas, but very few have a lift.
The staff were incredibly friendly. In fact, one staff member, on his day off, saw us in town and came over to say hi!
The hotel was clean, the room large and comfortable, and the restaurant/bar food was good.
I had the pleasure of staying at the Halvard Hotel on the Isle of Man and I must say that it was a fantastic experience. The staff were excellent, providing exceptional service throughout our stay. Thank you!
