Reception staff were great. We arrived early expecting to leave stuff in our car, but they found us a room that was ready.
Bar was open late so we could have a drink after the trek back from the download festival and a very nice pizza.

Bordering the Peak District, pioneering Derby was the site of the first factory during the Industrial Revolution. The city was a silk producer and a former mill forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Derwent Valley Mills, lining the Derwent River between Derby and Matlock.
Also by the river is Darley Park which hosts an annual chamber orchestra concert. The city centre arboretum was England’s first public park, and Markeaton Park in the north-west has a light railway. Nearby is the university campus and 18th-century Kedleston Hall, a Palladian-style mansion involved in filming of ‘The Duchess’.
Another royal connection is Bonnie Prince Charlie who stayed at Exeter House. A replica of his room is in Derby Museum and Art Gallery, and there is a statue of him in Cathedral Square. Opposite is the oldest pub, the Dolphin Inn, but the best nightlife is around Friar Gate.
The nearby Cathedral Quarter is full of eateries and shops, and the Westfield Centre houses big name brands. The Grade II-listed Market Hall offers a range of stalls above underground tunnels which are supposedly haunted by one of Derby’s many ghosts.
Derby County FC play at Pride Park, near the train station and several hotels with parking. Booking.com also offers cheap apartments and guest houses near East Midlands Airport.

At the conference centre, All Staff were caring and considerate of all clients, regardless of needs. The hotel bedroom was deep cleaned between each client. Were willing to go that extra mile.
Will come back soon.
Derby parking restrictions in town centre made it difficult for disabled persons to drive themselves, park safely, and retain independence in areas around combined Court and water areas, etc.
Taxis had to be used from conference centre return, but drivers were a credit to Derby, kind, courteous and helpful.
The suggested car parking not easy to access and nearest was closed.
Signage was confusing to someone not familiar with Derby.
We chose to eat in the conference centre due to road congestion we noticed on way in and after going in and out by taxi. We also utilised shops for snacks while in town.

Countryside is nice, town is a bit of a dive you would only really go to Derby if your planning on going to Alton Towers or maybe walking. Pub in the woods was my destination for a wedding and that was nice

The art gallery was interesting, especially the surrealist paintings. I highly recommend the Kedleston Hall! The staffs there were really helpful and informative, and the elegant interior design is especial. The Pickford’s House is interesting too, because there’re many grand upper-class mansions open to tourists but not homey middle-class houses like this. Everyone I met in this town was friendly, like we’d been friends for years.

We loved the cathedral and old quarter, we loved the Book Café which we visited three times in three days!
We loved all the little shops and cafes near the Cathedral up Saddlers street? Also noticed live music and beautiful places to go at night but we didn’t go into these this time.
As always with the Aston, you are met with very friendly staff. I was able to have the room I asked for. The hotel is a little old fashioned, but comfortable. Plenty of variety at breakfast (help yourself) cooked or continental. Unfortunately they have stopped serving lunch, because there is not much call for it. and evening is only sandwiches. You would have to go to a restaurant for your meals. As I was visiting my family in Derby, that wasn't a problem for me. I will definitely becoming back in about 6 months time
Breakfast was exceptional, general services where good, staff were all good, carina at reception was exceptional as well other staff at reception cnt remember the names. Thank you so much for making our stay at the hotel so interesting. Dinning room staff, bar staff, gym staff mention a few your all a credit and an asset to the hotel. Very friendly , exceptional at your jobs and I would definitely return and recommend to friends., Derby mickleover BW hotel.
Suzan. Jefferies and family
Staff were both helpful and extremely friendly, the room met my expectations [in fact compared with a number of Hotels I have used in the last few years it had more than enough facilities for clothing etc], it is situated clos enough to Derby Railway Station and City centre to be able reach on foot comfortably. Private taxi companies were in close proximity to the Hotel.
Rooms were clean, and functional. Average size room but perfectly adequate for our needs. Had the usual facilities, tea tray, towels, toiletries etc . Great location for Derby arena and within a short walk to explore Derby itself.
Good food selection at breakfast.
Overall a pleasant hotel and surroundings. Would consider using again.
The hotel is ideally situated for our needs south of Derby. It is within easy walking distance of the restaurants and pubs in Willington. The hotel is very clean and comfortable and ideal for an overnight stay! The breakfast is very good and the staff are friendly and helpful. It represents very good value for money!
The location is great as it’s only a five-ten min walk to the middle of derby center depending on where you’re going. The staff were so nice and inviting, they even do a fun game wheel for booking.com customers. The entire hotel was very clean, they are still renovating a bit but I had a good experience.
On the edge of the student area, with 4 pubs within a 4min walking distance, 25/30min walk to City centre, with a fully fitted kitchen, excellent decor, so everything you need in the property, it's perfect for a couple in need of some R&R
Great location in the centre of Derby. Excellent value for money when compared to other hotels in the area. Lovely old building with a lot of character. Breakfast was excellent, staff friendly and helpful
Room very clean, nice bed linen and towels.
