Everything. The property is your typical quaint coastal home. Cosy. Comfortable and so clean and quiet.
Jonathan was so helpful from the time of booking through to checking out. We were well looked after and well informed of the area. A great recommendation of Jonathan’s was The Seven Stars Pub. Wonderful, friendly bar staff and food!

I liked the idea that we could park up and use local transport to get about. The local transport being boats and ferries was very novel. A ferry to Greenways NT and back. A ferry to Kingswear and a boat to Dartmouth castle with a gentle walk back along the coast road. Lots to do, plenty of food places and lovely old pubs with original character. Also have to mention Marcellos ice cream parlour, selling Surfing Cow ice cream unbeatable anywhere, anytime. Will go back sooner rather than later.

River trips to Totnes and to Agatha Christie’s house, steam railway train to Paignton, short drives to Colyton Fishery and to Brixham - and just enjoying a wander around the streets of Dartmouth filled a wonderful week for us.

Seemed bustling and loads of history with a local touch too.
Seemed bustling and loads of history with a local touch too. Very colourful with boutique style shops for something different. Loads of eateries of differing standard and pubs a plenty. Transport seemed very good and the locals obviously made good use of it on the coast too. The river dart is huge and plenty to explore with ferries to take you around and watersports to get involved with. For me it was about the wildlife and getting on the water in the kayak. Plenty of places to launch from and to explore seals, coves, caves and forgotten villages.

The property was excellent. Good facilities.
The property was excellent. Good facilities. Everything worked as it should do. The only issue was parking but thats not the issue of the property owners as its an issue throughout dartmouth.
Cannot fault the property though. Good location. Close to the sea and the town. Would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling down that way

Dartmouth is lovely with loads to do during the day although a little quiet in the evening. It’s a great location to base yourself and then explore the south hams
It’s not that easy to get to (take your time) and walking or cycling in the area is tough because of the elevation changes
We were given a very nice room. Unfortunately, we had an issue with the shower and were immediately given an upgrade to our original room. Excellent service. The staff and management could not be more helpful.
We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel - excellent.
Can thoroughly recommend Brown's Hotel. If we return to Dartmouth our choice of hotel is really easy.
The hotel was quite special, it was what i was hoping it would be, the owner and staff were so helpful and friendly, took time to talk you, even though they were busy, always a pleasant atmosphere, food was very good. Look forward to going there again in the near future.
The food was EXCELLENT. The staff were helpful and friendly. I have been visiting The Royal Castle Hotel since the 1970s. It is as quirky and fascinating now as it has always been. My wife and I can't wait to go back.
