Beautiful hotel but rather expensive. Friendly staff and good facilities.
England’s oldest hotel (from 1220) in England’s first capital offers quintessentially English service and hospitality.

Quiet rural village close to interesting historic places like Shorncote old medieval church, Cirencester Roman site & museum, Lacock Abbey (a 40 min drive) and lovely little pubs. You'd need a car or careful checking of public transport routes, lovely area for cycling around the lakes & lots of little cafes there (daytime & weekends). DIned at the cosy & quaint 'Potting Shed' pub a few steps along the road, it was a good selection of local real ales & just what was needed.

There was at least 2 pubs in walking distance to eat and the potting shed served excellent food. Plenty of field walks to explore. Supermarket was just 10 mins drive with other ones only a little further. Was a perfect base for discovering the Cotswolds.

Crudwell is a pretty village in the cotswolds, it is quite small with not a lot there other than a few pubs/hotels and a post office.
Not far up the road is Malmesbury, a bigger town and there are some supermarkets only a few minutes up the road.
It's well placed as a base to explore the Cotswolds

Crudwell is good for public footpaths, bridleways and country lanes. We enjoyed a simple meal at the Tavern Inn at Kemble. We preferred the Eastern Section of the Cotswold Water Park to the Western Section, especially along the Thames from Lechlade to Buscot. Buscot is a beautiful spot, with a river lock, and the National Trust car park at Buscot Weir is popular with families for swimming in the shallow water. On our next visit to the area we might stay in Buscot and explore the Thames path in the direction of Oxford.

I had a problem with my shower, and I had to wait for a table at breakfast, but I would still recommend the Hotel, as I think the staff were good, the breakfast lovely, a good location and a very good night's sleep, after a wedding !
Beautiful property set in lovely gardens.
Chuck (the owner) was really helpful and made us very welcome.
Great location for visiting Crudwell (a nice walk across the fields).
host is very caring and prompt acion about my enquiries, the cottage has a king side bed large enough for us to sleep. Crudwell is good exploration in cotswolds
Very welcoming, dog friendly hotel. Food was great with plenty of choice, waitress even asked if my dog wanted a bowl of water. Good local dog walking area too.
Breakfast very good and plentiful. Tasty dinners on offer. Wonderful staff. Nice garden, plenty of parking, hotel easy to find. Comfortable lounge area.
