The room was really comfortable, clean and very spacious. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. The food was excellent, best fillet steak for a long time. The breakfast was enormous and very well presented.

The location was perfect for hiking in and around the area. The staff, the room, the evening meal and breakfast were all exceptional!
Amazing value for money.
The building itself with the backdrop of the mountains was truly breathtaking.
Highly recommended.

The house keeper who was there during my stay was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. I also briefly met the owner who was also very nice. The view here is absolutely incredible and nature is on the doorstep I was looking for some peace and to be immersed in nature for my stay in Buttermere and staying here gave me that. There is also a private entrance to the lake which is nice. It’s a ten minute walk to the village from here. They include a hearty breakfast if you want it. The room had everything I needed.
Buttermere itself is so peaceful and beautiful and though a small place there is so much to explore I feel I only scratched the surface on this stay. There’s a lot to explore I walked a lot and swam!
I recommend and would return for some peace if I need it.

the food that they serve in the restaurant/bar is of exceptional quality and is extremely moreish and the pavlova is recommended by my wife. the beer is also of exceptional quality and well kept.
the staff and hosts were attentive and very good and always busy and scurrying back and forth..

I liked the area as there are some lovely little villages within a 20 mile radius. It was nice to see all around without having to travel far. There is lots to see and do, whatever your heart desires in almost on your doorstep. We had our dinner out in Anna's restaurant and OMG the batter is so crispy and tasty, the chips were crispy on the outside and so soft in the middle. It was such good value and sits right on the sea front.

Cockermouth is a pretty town with many buildings of interest. Wordsworth's birthplace is there, but it is closed in winter.
The rivers Cocker and Derwent flow through the town with banks of daffodils in spring.
Plenty of small shops, restaurants and traditional pubs as well as two supermarkets.

Cockermouth has potential but is in need of more eateries, we stayed 3 nights and struggled to find anywhere nice for meals. The Bush is a lovely pub with good food but that's all we had to choose in the area.

Plenty of bars, restaurants and takeaways ,and a good range of shops and supermarkets. There are parks and river walks.there seemed to be plenty of car parking although we didn't need them,so I don't know what the costs were.
This was our second visit to Albion Cottage and delighted to see that the high standard had been maintained. The location is perfect and having a dedicated parking space very good. Easy walking to main shopping streets , restaurants and pubs. Also easy to get out of town to explore wider area.
Dog friendly is a must for us and plenty interesting walks can be easily made starting at the Cottage.
And thanks Jonathan for the bottle of wine and fresh milk
Excellent location for exploring Lakeland, especially the much overlooked Western Lake District. Cockermouth (2 miles away) is a very pleasant town and a good shopping centre, and much quieter than the touristy towns such as Keswick.
A lovely shower with plenty of hot water and space.
The convenience of a dishwasher.
Private parking right by the apartment.
A genial host who could not have been more welcoming and helpful.
The hotel was in the center of Cockermouth, so easy to get around on foot. The room was not massive, nor was the bed, but we slept fine. The breakfast was delicious, though it would have been nice to have had the option of vegetarian sausages. They did do a vegetarian eggs Florentine that was tasty. The complimentary free parking was a bonus. The staff were all helpful and friendly. I would stay again.
Everything to be honest. The room was very nice and quite spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable. The location -backing onto the river and in central Cockermouth - was excellent. Free parking was a bonus as well. The hotel itself was nicely decorated and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also very good with plenty of choice.
Beautiful decorated, charming, plenty of space in the garden, everything was properly functional, kitchen was well appointed, beds were comfortable. Appreciated the two separate living areas. The town is adorable and has some interesting places that are walkable. The grocery and restaurants were walkable, though the way is quite hilly.
The apartment was a good size and was in the perfect location for the centre of Cockermouth and comes with a parking spot. It was close to the river and all the shops and restaurants/bars.
We arrived and noticed that we hadn't got any towels but by the time we had been for a quick walk we got back and they had been sorted out for us.
The hotel is located above and a bit outside of Cockermouth. However, this can also be easily reached on foot from the hotel. The location is fantastic. Very quiet area; embedded in fields and trees. The hotel has a wonderful outdoor area with a gorgious view. The room was clean and tidy. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
The food was fantastic and there was plenty of it, so much that we failed to finish on every occasion. The hotel was good, bed was comfortable. Weather was cold when we stayed so it was nice to sit by the open fire in the lounge. Lovely area with plenty to see. Owners & staff were friendly & welcoming.
Spacious, well furnished and comfortable. Very convenient for the lovely market town of Cockermouth as well as the western side of the lakes. Janette is a great host and provided loads of useful information about the area. Gluten-free well catered for. Loads of safe, off-road parking.
Beautiful flat, spacious, modern, comfortable and has everything you could possibly need! Spotlessly clean, has a lovely deep bath as well as a shower. Good quality toiletries. Kitchen even has a dishwasher and a large fridge freezer.
Fabulous central location.
Although the hotel is self check in staff were readily available before and during our stay. The place was clean and luxurious. Parking was sorted easily and quickly and is located close to the hotel. The only place worth staying for your trip to Cockermouth!
Beautiful, clean home from home. Great location for a walk down to town and parking right outside the door. Little garden was great for our dog and must be lovely in the summer.
Thanks for a lovely stay in Daffodil House, Cockermouth.
absolutely fabulous staff who couldn’t be more helpful as we arrived on the hottest night of the year. The hotel is fabulous and the food 8n the restaurant was great and they catered for our vegan friends. We loved Cockermouth too.
Lovely staff - helpful, friendly.
A couple of issues that couldn't be anticipated by hotel but were dealt with promptly and efficiently.
Very good meals. Comfortable room with plenty of space.
Would most definitely stay again.
