The Hotel itself is amazing, with many great architectural elements from its previous life and fantastic grounds around it. The rooms were comfy and the food was some of the best I have had in many years of travelling for business!

The Old Vicarage, hotel in Coalport

The Old Vicarage is a family-run hotel and restaurant in the beautiful Shropshire Countryside.

The room was a good size. And comfortable. They had a very good dog attitude. They allowed well behaved dogs, most places. They had a good sized garden to let the dog stretch her legs. The staff were kind and very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent. The house and garden are both well presented with good parking facilities.

Ye Olde Punchbowl Country Inn & Gardens, hotel in Coalport

Located in Bridgnorth, 15 km from Ironbridge Gorge, Ye Olde Punchbowl Country Inn & Gardens provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

For the price paid (thank you booking.com Genius pricing), this place was faultless - offering exceptional quality and value. Its a 15th century coaching house, with first class accommodation in the converted stables. Everything was just so - with oak beams, large bathroom and monogrammed towels! The accommodation even had its own small lounge. Absolutely nothing to fault. The gaff is a restaurant- not a pub - but the bar area, and restaurant itself, was very olde world, but without ever being twee. The staff were decent coves too. It's actually an Aga based carvery, and the pricing was stunning - we got a three course meal for fifteen quid! Fear not veggies - there are ample veggie options, and there is a full non-carvery menu too. The food and drink is remarkably good for the pricing. As I said up top - we couldn't fault it.

Coalport is great for historical visits to museums and old towns and is easy to get around. Lots of lovey hiking areas not too far away. We mainly prepared our own meals in the self catering kitchen of the local YHA but there was the option of ordering food from the YHA restaurant as well as other local cafes and restaurants.

So much historical things to see & lots of lovely museums in close proximity. Beautiful countryside for walks & loved the local Arts & Crafts centre not far aware great place to be sidetracked & spend your time. Lots of great places to grab a bite to eat & drink a cup/glass of what you fancy! I certainly intend to return to see more of the local area.
