Ruth was so welcoming & friendly & has a truly beautiful home that is spotlessly clean & comfortable. Our room was huge! The usual tea & coffee facilities were in our room but the homemade Welsh cakes were a lovely touch & so nice that I asked for the recipe! Breakfast was the full Welsh for both me & my husband, using locally sourced ingredients & delicious homemade marmalade and there were other options available too. It didn't disappoint and we felt totally relaxed to take as long as we wanted to eat our food.
The location of The Old Stores is really lovely for a mini break, we stayed here for a wedding 15 minutes away, but spent the following day exploring Montgomery, it's castle & also had a walk up to the War Memorial for the superb 360 degree view that Ruth told us about!

Very well appointed and very clean. Hosts were very helpful and even offered a lift back from a local wedding.
Isolated spot which suited us, we chose it because of proximity to a wedding venue.

Staff were so friendly and helpful. A young girl behind the bar with dark hair was amazing!
Room was nicely decorated and spacious. The breakfast was amazing and I think one of the best I have ever had in a hotel. I have some allergies which means I have to be careful what I eat, where I stay etc. The hotel was very helpful and accommodating with this and they even tailored the breakfast to my needs! They have a broad selection in general.

A truly wonderful hotel. The room was amazing and the staff were extremely kind, thoughtful and helpful. We requested a sharing platter for us to have in the room and it was delicious. We had explained our dietary needs and the chef had been imaginative and creative. A fabulous treat for our wedding night.
The downstairs of the hotel was lovely. The grounds and the view from the window was beautiful. The staff were very helpful, breakfast was brilliant and we could buy a great packed lunch for walking Offas Dyke. Price of food and drink was very reasonable.
The hotel retains its victorian character, the staff were helpful and made our stay very comfortable. The evening meal was brilliant and our breakfast delicious, wouldn’t hesitate to book again
The staff, hotel, food and drink options far exceeded my expectations. I will be back with my family and our dog - wonderful place to stay. I thought the value for money was exceptional.
