Overall breakfast was good but the coffee quality was poor and no one around for service. Eggs were only scrambled so I went into the kitchen to ask for poached. What arrived was perfectly cooked but not everyone has my nerve to do this. For £150+ per night I would expect service at breakfast for tea and coffee and eggs choice.
Young man from Afghanistan on reception when we arrived at lunch time on Friday was very polite and friendly. Other people on reception were not friendly but ok.

Excellent selection, Toast machine hit and miss, could do with up dating, white bread most mornings felt stale only fit for toasting. Brown bread ok. Fried eggs were like hard boiled, not runny.. but well cooked. Sausages good quality. In all excellent

The suite I had booked was small and cosy and absolutely tidy, with a comfortable bed and no noises to be heard in the bedroom at night. In the bathroom, there was a rainfall shower and a sufficient number of towles of all sizes, as well as different kinds of products, like soap and shampoo. Check-in was easy and Laura was very helpful, when there was a problem.
Number 8 is close to the High Street, so you have all kinds of shops, restaurants, tea rooms and coffee places nearby. And it is only a five minutes walk to Canterbury Cathedral.
