Staff are fantastic. Coped with our late returns and couldn't do enough to help and ensure we were fed and watered. Very busy in the main pub on bank holiday weekend, but great and welcoming atmosphere. Beds were comfy. bathroom very small, but adequate.

It is in a nice remote place. Very close to Aysgarth Falls and several other walks. Room was amazing. A nice place to relax for a day or two.

The location is excellent, being directly opposite the castle, so lovely views, and just a couple of minutes from the main square. Sarah, the host, is very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was lovely, cooked fresh and with fab produce. The room is lovely, very comfortable and with some nice touches.

It was a beautiful property accommodating to all that we’re using it
It had decent wifi
It had so many extras like a little fridge in the hall where you could leave wine etc or they’d provide milk for you for later on and in cool bottles so you could keep it in your room
The hosts made every visitor feel so special and were interested in each one.
What an absolutely beautiful and gorgeous location!!! We were so comfortable in this character cottage with plenty of space and so clean! Best bit is the views and location. Carlton in Coverdale is the cutest of all the Dale villages. Thanks for a short stay in your beautiful part of the world which will stay long in our memories.
Position and location proved ideal for meeting up with family staying in the area. Compared to other larger hotels I have stayed in , the bathroom was clean and tiling grouting well cared for. Good shower. Big breakfast we could not finish.
Charming hosts who made us feel very welcome.
The food was very good if TOO plentiful; at times!
The hotel is in a lovely situation although the roads approaching are narrow at times.
