Most exceptional welcome. Made to feel at home and pre booked evening meal at local.bar for us. Lovely breakfast and nice personal touch of a little tipple of sherry in room. Couldn't ask for more from Pat and her husband Bill. A heartfelt thanks.

We loved everything about this property.
We had the garden suite, which was lovely and quiet, with it’s own entrance. It had lots of space, modern large bathroom (it even had a tv in the bathroom) and a lovely comfy bed.
Situated in town centre of Stranraer, The Royal Hotel features a beer garden and bar. Stranraer train station is a 10-minute walk away and the Stena and P&O ports are located nearby.

Evening meals were excellent. Many non residents use the hotel for evening meals, especially "early bird"
Sea view good
Good area for bird watching, especially winter
Briar Brae Bed & Breakfast is set in Stranraer on the sea front, with views over Loch Ryan. The property is located 9 km from Portpatrick and 11 km from the ferry port.

Homey, friendly and immaculately clean accommodations. Pat was so helpful. The driveway is a bit hard to see on the way by but the place is scenic and convenient for leaving on the ferry. Ate a great meal at the Custom House pub.

The location is great, especially for access to the ferry ports. We visited Logan Botanic Gardens, Glenwhan Gardens and Castle Kennedy which are all within a short drive from Cairnryan. We had a lovely meal at Henry's Bay House restaurant in Stranraer. Also had a nice snack from Subway in Stranraer and delicious soup with home made bread at Glenwhan Gardens.
Would avoid trying to find somewhere to eat in Stranraer town as there are few restaurants that looked appealing.

It was where we caught the ferry to Ireland and if ever going again I would definitely use Cairnryan. We used a restaurant by the name of Henry’s Bay 10 mins away and it was very nice would recommend they did a teatime special that was excellent value for money and the staff were very attentive. The route to Ayr from Cairmryan has a beautiful coast way and well worth a drive to. There were some breathtaking views.

Cairnryan sits on the side of Loch Ryan and is therefore one sided. The village is 10-15 minutes from Stranraer which has plenty of pubs, cafes and restaurants. As a touring base or a stopover for the ferry Cairnryan is ideal but if you want nightlife that’s out.
We ate in Henry’s Bay House Restaurant which is very good. As for activities for young couples my wife and I are 73 and 70 years young so no advice on that. On the other side of the loch there are quite a few nice beaches within a 12 mile drive but take a picnic. As stated above touring is ideal. Portpatrick and the Mull of Galloway are well worth a visit in fine weather, as are Castle Kennedy and Logan gardens.

This is an excellent B&B a short distance from the ferry terminals of P&O and Stena. Great attention is paid to detail with the end result being that it would put many (if not all) of the hotels in the area to shame. My room was excellent with a few extras not expected in a B&B. Breakfast was likewise great. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for the owners of this establishment.
Outstanding place. Everything catered for. Facilities commensurate with 5 star hotel. Loved the add touch of TV in the bathrooms. Breakfast amazing, great choice and quality of items superb. Beds luxurious and comfortable. Owners lovely they go beyond to welcome you and cater for your needs. We loved the place ❤
The location was perfect for the P&O Ferry terminal. The breakfast was beautifully cooked and exceeded expectations. Pat is a wonderful host who was very helpful with recommending where to eat dinner. I would recommend the Merchants House in Cairnryan for evening meal run by Fiona.
The place was clean and nice, so comfortable and private. Almost as close are you can get to Stena line. Walkable distance. The hosts were very kind and made sure that I had everything I needed. And even gave me a ride to the ferry because it was pouring rain!
Lovely place, exceptionally easy for the ferry I needed to catch the next day. Maggie is a gem and made me feel right at home immediately! The room was lovely and much larger than I had anticipated. I only wish I could have stayed longer.
We liked everything! Pat paid attention to every detail down to crystal decanter in the room with sherry. Great shower comfy beds homey friendly and convenient to the ferry. Pat will even dive you there. A definite 15 out of 10 lol
perfect location and pat and bill were the perfect hosts even let us sit in there own personal sitting room while we waited for ferry breakfast was first class couldn’t ask for better hosts thanks again pat and bill
Pat was very welcoming and friendly. The room was equipped with all the amenities expected of a good B&B. Access (to and from) was convenient i.e. without disturbing others. I would book Cairnryan B&B again.
We stayed in the Gloucester Suite . This is the best B&B we have ever stayed in and we highly recommend it . It is a great place to stay particularly good for the Ferries from Cairnryan to Belfast or Larne
Rural location, really convenient for the Cairnryan ferry terminals and just across the road from the Loch Ryan coastal path. Lovely room, beautifully presented and a breakfast cooked to order.
Pat was extremely welcoming , friendly. and we felt very much at ease. The room was immaculate and very comfortable. Pat provides some extra touches that make a stay in Cairnryan B&B special.
The quality and comfort of the rooms was on par with a 4* hotel. The home cooked breakfast a very welcome surprise. Pat is a lovely host who genuinely enjoys welcoming guests.
Absolutely ideal for travellers heading on the early ferries from Cairnryan. Great night's sleep, nice to relax after the journey with a well appointed kitchen and comfy sofa.
Lovely family room on the top floor. Two very large rooms with a bathroom in between. Perfect for a family and less than a 5 minute drive to the ferry.
