Haselbury Mill, hotel in Beaminster

With unique views of the South Somerset countryside, in a peaceful lakeside, river and garden location, Haselbury Mill has beautiful historical buildings and superb food.

The room was comfortable and spacious. A bit dated but fine. We had a lovely meal in the evening. Excellent food. Good choice of wines and beers. The breakfast was served in the upstairs old Mill building. It was buffet style and very good. plenty of choice of items too. It was a really lovely complex. There had been a wedding the night we stayed so breakfast was quite busy. No problem though. there were plenty of staff working. All the staff were friendly and helpful. A lovely setting. lots of outdoor space by a pond for eating and drinking.

    A step back in time!

A step back in time! Small historic town, traditional butcher, baker and greengrocer, independent shops. Very friendly helpful locals. I can recommend The New Inn for great evening meals at reasonable prices. Be prepared to travel some very narrow windy lanes in this area though!

We did not see anything of Beaminster.

We did not see anything of Beaminster. It was only a one night stop over. The town looked pretty and there are things to see and do in the neighborhood. Will visit again and would stay at the Ollerod again. Had an excellent dinner at the Ollerod.

The Ollerod lives up to all the positive reviews we read here. Our room was beautiful, large and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Food (both dinner and breakfast) was excellent and varied. The facilities are simple enough but good. Very nice bar, restaurant and walled garden areas. The hotel's location is quite off the beaten track but Beaminster is a great starting-point from which to explore all areas of Dorset, as well as being an attractive place in itself with many local walks and attractions.

Absolute gem of a cottage (with the loveliest most attentive hosts who were kind enough to give us a relaxed new years day check out)! Very clean, cosy and well equipped in the gorgeous Beaminster. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook, very nice newly furnished bathroom and the bedrooms were lovely and comfortable. The welcome hamper we received was also a delightful little extra surprise! Despite the rain we had a wonderful new years in Dorset and will definitely be back in the summer! Thanks Jacqui and Chris :)

We loved everything about this property, from the central location in a pretty town near many lovely natural and man-made attractions, to the clean, modern, attractive and well equipped interior. Jacqui and Chris, who were readily available and very helpful, had thought of every possible convenience (rubber gloves, cloth napkins, lots of power outlets and USB ports). We felt very much at home. We would certainly highly recommend it and would love to return!

A beautifully appointed and presented, thoroughly clean, well thought out, 2 bedroomed property with vaulted ceilings (in the bedrooms) and extremely conveniently located close to Beaminster Village with two village pubs, perfect village shops and fabulous fashion boutiques and gift shops. A beautiful, wonderfully established back garden with a relaxing water feature that is thoughtfully designed. Would thoroughly recommend this property.

The property was very easy to find and for our purposes was well situated for Montacute, Beaminster, Bridport and the coast. The bed was very comfortable - the house seems so warm we would have been quite happy with a lighter duvet! Everything was as you'd wish for, along with some thoughtful touches. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

Perfect location, immaculately clean, lovely and private. Every need catered for. The garden and terrace were beautiful and a perfect spot for sundowners on a sunny evening! Exceptionally comfy beds and super-dooper shower! Thank you! Beaminster town is delightful too - definitely book restaurants in the area before you come though!

We enjoyed our stay in the thatched cottage in a typical Dorset village and would love to stay again. Lovely host, friendly locals and a very peaceful setting. Good pub nearby which had a restaurant with reasonably priced menu.

Great place, Beaminster is idyllic. Cosy little cottage that the kids absolutely loved. Even a few games and puzzles to entertain us. Close to Jurassic coast for fossil hunting and nice national trust half an hour north.
