I feel some of the reviews for this property are unfair.
The location is perfect and we had a lovely warm welcome from the staff in the bar. We even returned at the end of the night for the karaoke.
The room was modern, very clean and comfortable with tea/coffee facilities.
We did have to download an app to our phones, but this gave us access to our room without any issues

The position, type of building and free car parking.
Position for us in Shrewsbury was spot on as it had plenty of places around here to go for something to eat & drink. We also like the older parts over the more modern places.
The building itself was very quirky. Its higgledy piggledy style was homely and appealing to us but for anyone with mobility issues it would be very difficult to get to the upper floor levels.
The free parking was great but if you have a larger vehicle than a standard car, it’s quite tight getting through the archway into the parking area. You might need to consider the pay parking over the road from the hotel.
