Lovely room and very good meal in the Beeches. Slight problem as the room was above the central heating boiler which was noisy. Ear plugs would help. Lovely staff.

I took pictures
First thing I do is check under the duvet and bedsheets. Black long hair under the bedsheets. So bedsheets not changed or cleaned at all.
I'd love to show you the photos.
Wasn't impressed.

The beeches is a bit tired.
The beeches is a bit tired. In need of a refurb accommodation wise. One room was being decorated when we were there. Our en-suite needed a deep
Clean. The cubed shower had a lot of mould / soap residue build up in the door channels, the shower spray needs replacing and the water not that hot. The basin needed a good clean around the over flow hole and base of the taps. When we moved a bedside cupboard we found a mouldy satsuma and a tin of Vaseline from a previous occupant. The room was a bit scruffy with unnecessary fake flowers. A huge tv, too big for the room. However it was cheap at £65 per night, the bed was comfortable and linen clean and decent towels. The unexpected continental breakfast left in a wicker basket was a bonus and good quality. All in all you get what you pay for but a dirty bathroom and shower is no excuse. Location was perfect for our onward journey.

Lovely town and friendly people, good mix of individual shops and some high street shops. Beautiful area with lots to see and do.
Area steeped in history and countryside but within short distance of many interesting towns and villages.

We liked it so much we went back into town 3 times.
We liked it so much we went back into town 3 times. Best shops were the Birds Bakery, the indoor market and Ashby Tool Box. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Parking was free for disabled. Alpaca farm just outside was pleasant and we liked looking around the Bluebell Arboretum.

Staff were accommodating and friendly and I can't praise them enough.
Room cleanliness and spa area could be looked into a lot more but with in-house adjustments/training I'm sure this can be easily rectified. Champney's could benefit from pre-room checks by a second person and a presence in the spa area to monitor the rules they have stipulated as none of them are adhered too regarding people claiming their reclining chairs and maximum amount of people in one specific area.
ATTENTION TO DETAIL Champney's to set you apart from the rest for this location.

A lovely historic town, very dog and human friendly!!
A lovely historic town, very dog and human friendly!!…. and in light of the current Covid restrictions they are coping very well. Some great places to visit within a very short distance. Plenty of choice of eateries, whether it be Pub grub or afternoon tea! Definitely worth a visit.
Would recommend Hicks Lodge, a National Park with lots of walks, play and picnic areas, cafeteria and brilliant views across the National forest.
Calke Abbey, Mercia Marina too were brilliant.

The hotel is very nicely located, there is a lot of green around, some animals too. Everything looks very fancy. I also left early, so the staff provided me with take-out breakfast (a big plus for the staff). There were even vegan options inside - this was very nice. If you have more time, you would surely find some more things to like, like a gym or swimming pool. I would definitely stay there again.
The Cedars is a a friendly hotel tucked away from the road.
I had heard of it but never stayed there before but i found the owners very friendly and helpful, the room i had was a good size, clean and quiet and the breakfast was very nice the following morning.
I will definitely stay here again.
cute little hotel above a pub and bar. pictures don’t do it justice, really nice, all the basics are covered. location is a lovely town with plenty of nice places for something to eat. nice and quiet. the locals are really friendly. the staff are amazing. I will be booking again
The lake was great and we had a very successful day fishing. The barn conversion was beautiful and so well maintained. The location was very close to Ashby De La Zouch where you can find shops, pubs, restaurants. We can’t wait to come back!
great location, really comfy bed and always a great welcome. bit of a shame that breakfasts are only Friday/Saturday now but the unbelievable carvery for dinner nearly makes up for it!
Good price, good location, nightclub not to much of a disturbances from my room.
No onsite parking, but parking in visitors centre was 4 minutes walk away and very cheap.
The staff Simon is very friendly. The property is well located (near the Market Street), clean, has a heater (it was cold outside) and have a great breakfast.
