The host , Simon, could not have been better. My wife has mobility problems and Simon rearranged his bookings to help. The weather had been awful but was improving. It was suggested that going to Berwick and having fish and chips with a view was a good option. It transpired to be great advice.

The rooms were clean and the en suite bathroom recently re furbished. The hotel is situated in a central area and a short walk from the sea views. There is a nice Italian restaurant within the hotel, with a couple of bars.

We had a fantastic stay at the Gables. Angus is an entertaining host who was there to welcome us on our arrival. We were made to feel at home. The house is beautifully maintained and the furniture comfortable and in keeping with the style of the house. Our room was huge. The bed is bespoke and equally as vast as the room. Our breakfast was well cooked and the produce local. Angus' recommendations were very helpful. His suggestion to extend our planned walk to take in even better views paid off. We had a great time at the Gables and would recommend it for short stays similar to our visit or to use as a base for a longer trip to explore the amazing landscape that surrounds the area.

The location was perfect we walked all around Berwick on Tweed. Food and shops were close by. No need for a car when we arrived and just as a note the Hotel is located close to the rail station. Thank you Ian and Ruth.
