Room was very cozy, clean, had kettle, microwave, coffee machine with pods and even toaster! Bed was comfy. Definitely recommend!
Wonderful 3 days. Stunning scenery, fantastic accommodation. Peace and quiet. Fabulous place for walking especially Glen Tar Estate near the Ballroom. Excellent pub The Boat for meals and get togethers with friendly attentive staff. We had a car but did notice using the local bus service

Aboyne is a delightful large village set amongst beautiful scenery. It seems to have a real community feel about it and the public spaces are clean and well cared for. We preferred it to the very touristy Ballater down the road and would stay here again.

We didn't stop in the town of Aboyne itself, but if (or rather, when!) we go back, we will do so, as it looked very pleasant as we drove through. The scenery in the area is beautiful, and we enjoyed our drives around the area. There are plenty of placed of interest to visit and a super-abundance of castles. We greatly enjoyed our day at Castle Fraser.

Beautiful place with great access to river and woodland walks. Quaint feel.
A few solid local establishments to eat and drink, including the Boat Inn which has a great atmosphere and food/bar.
A little scarce on eateries open later, particularly on weeknights. Most places closed by 8pm, although would highly recommend Nurtaj, the local Indian restaurant! Beautiful inside, lovely staff, amazing food.
Aboyne was also a good base for accessing other places, with excellent road links out towards Inverness, Aberdeen, the Moray coast, and more.
Not touristy in the best way.
Beautiful place.

Lovely little town to visit, very quiet and peaceful with interesting buildings. Highly recommended if you're visiting the Cairngorms, Aberdeen or anywhere nearby. The Boat Inn is an amazing place to stay as well as for a meal or drinks with lovely indoor and outdoor spaces. Nice little play park for kids and fields for dogs to run around in too.
Rooms were good with a good choice of breakfast options. Food was good but more upmarket than the advertised "Pub Grub" by the Boat Inn meaning it was more expensive than pub grub prices. being dog friendly did not present any problems for guests with no animals. Room cleanliness was good with the exception of the ensuite fan extract vent which did not appear to have been cleaned for some time. Towels were of good quality and beds were comfortable.
Super apartment with everything required for a peaceful and comfortable stay. Very clean, convenient for Aboyne and surrounding area, well equipped, helpful non intrusive host with little treats and essentials (tea, coffee, milk, chocolate) provided
Beautiful Cottage with a Fabulous view
Hot Tub lovely welcome pack and whisky which was fantastic
