We had been travelling extensively and so was tired in the evening. For our two night stay we ordered room service. It was the best menu for room service that we had seen. The food was delicious. The bed was very comfortable and the facilities in our room were excellent.

We were offered a welcome drink with the hosts on arrival which was appreciated after a long drive. The room was of a good size and the bed was very comfortable. The setting was very peaceful and quiet. Continental Breakfast was served in the lounge at a time to suit.

The location is about a 15 minute drive to the old Gallo-Roman walled city of Le Mans which is quaint with numerous timbered buildings and narrow winding streets. The Cathedral of St Julien is huge with numerous beautiful stained-glass windows, one of which is the oldest in the world. In the past the town was abandoned but in recent years was extensively restored and is frequently used as a film set for epic films, eg Cyrano de Bergerac.
As parking is limited in the old town, it is wise to park in one of the several very large free car parks by the river. From here the best view of the Gallo-Roman walls and towers surrounding the town can be seen. There is a short climb up a series of steps to the old town which is well worth a visit. Best to visit during the week because very little is open on a Sunday, including places to eat.
The Le Mans Country Club at Yvre-l'Eveque is an ideal place to stop for a day or two en route to destinations further south, especially if you like fine food.
Le Mans is also the home of the 24 hour Race and there are several Museums to visit.

Beautiful accommodation. Friendly host.
Beautiful accommodation. Friendly host.
WiFi took an hour to get working.
No restaurant. No bar. No bath but very nice shower.
No choice at breakfast which was unsuitable for diabetics.
Expensive considering the poor facilities.
I recently stayed at this hotel with my daughter for a business trip, and it exceeded all our expectations. The room was spacious and modern, with a large, clean bathroom featuring a shower. The hotel is set in a beautiful, safe, and secure garden, complete with a swimming pool. The beauty of the place is indescribable; it is truly the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Highly recommended for both business and leisure stays.
We liked that it was not an Hotel, it was a well maintained family chateau and the expectation was that we behaved in a quite and considerate manner. This made for a very pleasant atmosphere. An excellent breakfast was served around one large dining room table.
Best breakfast we've ever had at a hotel, lovely friendly hosts, very family friendly, huge rooms, comfortable beds, big windows, air conditioning, gorgeous pool, very friendly feel.
