lovely clean room, with a great view.
Most folk are in Versailles to see the Palace, which is on the same Boulevard as the hotel - so you literally walk out of the hotel door and a few hundred yards away is the entrance to the Palace.
Most of the staff were great.
We welcome you in a friendly and family atmosphere! Our mission is to make you spend precious moments in our company, we offer you a warm place to make you feel at home.

The hotel was perfectly situated in relation to the Chateau & the town. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from in the area. The buffet breakfast is good & sets you up for the day. The rooms are very large & comfortable with interconnecting for families. Beautifully decorated. We thoroughly enjoyed our 1 night stay - wish it could have been longer!

I was there the night of the Grand Masked Ball and it was lovely to see all of the costumed attendees going to the musical fountain displays and promenading before the fireworks display at Versailles!

The palace was beautiful but I enjoyed the gardens and the Grand and Petit Trianon the most. Spent almost 6 hours there in total. But don't skip the town itself as it has really nice architecture, cute cobbled streets and many shops and restaurants.

I am assuming that most people travelling to Versailles are going for the Palaces and gardens. The grandeur and scale of the palaces is immense, the sense of history, excess and wealth really hits you. Having said that, you will be doing a lot of queing and you will be shuffling from room to room with 1000's of other people poking their cameras and phones into your space.

We loved Versailles plenty of cafe's, bars and restaurants to chose from at
affordable prices, if you just fancy a light lunch wonderful deli offering
excellent selection. Small Carrefour and other grocery stores easily accessible. We found it very easy to get around Versailles we had a 2 day pass for the Chateau and gardens and it was amazing. After reading reviews before we planned our trip we pre - booked our tickets for the earliest time possible as it can get very busy, it worked just fine we visited on Wednesday and again on Thursday.

I have been twice before over the years, It's a very expensive suburb of Paris now and an interesting town which revolves around the Chateau. The Chateau is a place you must visit once in your life at least, and allow a full day or more as the grounds are huge. It's a commercial tourist trap, long queues and not enough people selling tickets though all staff are very friendly and helpful. I would have bought online but couldn't fathom the headset guide, you could add it then it disappeared at checkout. Turns out you can't and don't need to pre-order, they are available after ticket check at a desk in the entrance, no queue. You can buy tickets from Tourist Information (they have an allocation) to beat the queues. Don't take a very expensive tour, the audio gives the same information and there are plenty of signs to stop you getting lost. Fantastic place but more or less just a portrait gallery and heaven for lovers of architecture. Just stand there and wonder at the scale, opulence and grandeur of the place. Not much catering, just essentials but the catering staff will refill a water bottle for you free if you ask nicely (a bit of French is handy). Be prepared to get your elbows out as although access is limited there are a lot of people inside, be prepared to wait for pictures and be tolerant of the bored and ignorant being dragged around! Book one of the local hotels, we used the Ibis, a 5 minute walk and used a restaurant on Rue de Satory which has a good selection and just outside the gates.

Fantastic trip.
Fantastic trip. It had been on my bucket list for a long time and did not disappoint. Mercure hôtel exceptionally welcoming. Excellent breakfast.
Would definitely recommend.
The palace is of course the main reason to go to Versailles but I don’t advise visiting the inside on a Sunday. It was packed to the rafters and at time uncomfortably so.
But hey ho! I loved it all. Enjoy your trip…
The bed was extremely comfortable. We found the hotel restaurant to be surprisingly good, and the bar is a nice place to have a drink in the evening. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The hotel is just down the street from the castle in Versailles and within walking distance to numerous restaurants as well as the train stations (there are two of them). The travel time to Paris depends on which train you take and ranges from 9 minutes (!) to around 30 minutes.
At the Royal Hotel Versailles you feel at home, I had a wonderful experience from the day I arrived until I left.
Ideal location for several visits to the Palace of Versailles and the surrounding area.
Extremely friendly staff, welcoming and always happy to help you thank you Madame Sylvie and Monsieur Philipe.
The rooms, very clean and perfect for a few days.
Generous breakfast.
Definitely recommend for all friends and family.
To do again.
This beautiful hotel is located close to the palace and Chateau de Versailles. The staff were very accommodating. I could leave my luggage at the front desk until check-in/out, and when I told the night staff my plug didn't work, he went straight out to collect a new one so I could have a bath. The breakfast host was very attentive during our meal and made good coffee.
Very comfortable and clean! The staff was so accomodating and helpful to us when our daughter came with us last minute and we needed an extra bed. It was an easy walk to the Train station so we could get into Paris easily and the Palace of Versailles was only about a 15 min walk. Also a grocery store is right across the street.
The location was very nice. It is close to one of the entrances to the Versailles Palace.
The underground parking was spacious enough and relatively easy to access.
The double extended sofa bed was good for the kids (9yo &6yo).
The room was well cleaned.
The hotel was in general well maintained.
The hotel is in easy walking distance from the Versailles palace, and there are many restaurants in the streets nearby. The room was clean, bed comfortable, towels and toiletries provided. At the reception there was even lemonade and some croissants available. Staff was nice and helpful.
Excellent location for visiting the Palace of Versailles, you could hardly get nearer than this hotel. I also booked this hotel as it has onsite parking in the underground car park. Spacious room, excellent breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. The receptionist lady was great.
This hotel is close to the palace and is the perfect place to stay if you want to explore Versailles. The rooms are a decent size. The woman at reception is very kind and helpful. They have two bikes to rent which was so fun to ride around the parks of the palace.
The hotel is really close to the Versailles Palace and the train station, barely 8min walk. The staff is very friendly, the breakfast is cheap and it's totally worth it because they offer a big variety of options to eat. The room is comfortable as well.
The room was comfortable and the hotel had parking ( first come first served principle) and was near the restaurants and the Versailles Palace but on a quiet street so no problem with getting a gooe night sleep.
Good breakfast options.
Well received by a very informed host who was able to provide a great knowledge of the palace of Versailles and the amenities in the town. Well equipped room with comfortable bed. Home made jams a little extra treat at breakfast.
Spacious appartement with two bedrooms and an great shower.
The location is ideal, right next to the RER C, that brings you to the center of Paris in less than 30 minutes and walking distance from place of Versailles
A beautiful hotel with underground parking in a top location to visit Versailles and Paris!
The staff was extremely attentive and helpful!
Highly recommended!
Clean and close to Versailles Chateau. Direct train to Paris centre. Plenty of restaurants close by. Street parking in front of hotel for a decent price.
