Logis proche des plages du débarquement, hotel in Vaucelles

Logis proche des plages du débarquement is located in Vaucelles, 3.2 km from Baron Gerard Museum, 3.6 km from Museum of the Bayeux Tapestry, and 10 km from German Battery of D-Day.

My stay was spoiled by an incident that happened shortly after arrival. I sat down on the bed to have a rest and the bed collapsed under me. I was not injured but the bedframe was broken and the bed was unusable. I phoned the owner who did not answer the phone or respond to my urgent messages (only 24 hours later). My wife and I l waited for several hours then left to find alternative accommodation. I notified Booking. com but have not had a reply and it has now been three days. The host send me an email accusing me of destroying the bed and demanding compensation! I might add that I am a 77 years old retired doctor of 85kg weight and normal temperament and I am not in the habit of damaging other's property.

Vaucelles is a rural suburb of Bayeux.

Vaucelles is a rural suburb of Bayeux. It's only a few kilometers into Bayeux by car. The apartment is modest but has a separate bathroom, kitchen and sleeping area. I had to leave the property after a few hours because the bed was unusable and I was unable to contact the host. I would not recommend this property because the host blamed me for damages and behaved dishonestly.

We tried to find something rural, so this is exactly fulfilling our demands. We also appreciated close proximity to Bayeux, even though we didn't use bikes to go there as originally planned, due to a rather tight schedule of our Normandy visit. In fact, we made two bike trips during our stay - the first one was Normandy Suisse from Caen southwards using the bike path on the abandoned railway. Second, we ran by train to Caen and by bike back along the invasion Beaches back to Vaucelles. Finally Bayeux on foot and a later car trip to Omaha beaches. There was a lot to see all around and after three weeks spent in Brittany, we found a bit different culture, architecture, and history.
