Lovely location on an island close to Vannes. Lots of places to walk in nature nearby. Lovely bar area in the garden overlooking the estuary and beach, lovely place to enjoy a drink in the sun. Restaurant was fully booked the night we stayed but they booked us a table in the restaurant opposite which was lovely (excellent mussels). Staff were friendly and helpful with any questions we had. 10 minute drive from the Center of Vannes but plenty of parking there and well worth a visit

Visiting the southern coast of Brittany, we drove along the coast to Locronan, Quimper, Pont-Aven, Carnac - for the archeologist there are plenty of other Dolmens and other stone monuments mostly reachable by car, which have small carparks to stop at, Auray, Port Louis, Quiberon all within easy reach. Going north east to Josselin, Rochefort en Terre and the east of the Gulf of Morbihan also easy to reach by car, There appears to be a good bus service too but we didn't use it. Took the train to Nantes for the day - watch out for overcrowding on the train if you come back at rush hour!! Must see in Nantes is the Iles de Nantes mechanical museum with huge moving mechanical elephant which carries passengers.

We found Vannes charming, even in winter.
We found Vannes charming, even in winter. The medieval buildings are impressive and beautifully kept but fortunately the town is not over-run by tourism and retains a sense of its own identity. Its proximity to sites like Carnac is a big plus.

The best part of Vannes is the Golfe of Morbihan.
The best part of Vannes is the Golfe of Morbihan. We rented bikes (easy) at the dock and had a wonderful time on Ile-d-Arz. The ferries come/go frequently. The town center of Vannes has lovely places near the ramparts. The city itself is very busy with plenty of traffic.

Fantastic town with a nice vibe, good bars, restaurants and around every corner in Vannes was a super building or view, very impressed, also found the restaurants hidden down the side streets had really good food and a lot cheaper than the ones on the main routes .
We would avoid the hotel we stopped in as it was a good 20 minute walk away from the edge of the town through a couple of quite scary at night subways, no bus service into the town from the Kyriad Prestige Vannes of which we guess was rather more suited to the business community rather than tourist.
It also did not state that it was only 20 yards from a busy inter city rail line on one side and a very noisy road junction on the opposite side , although the room basic without a room safe, fridge or tea making resource the bed was comfortable and the bathroom excellent.
The hotel was also very clean, its only big bonus was large free car park

Nice city, pretty harbour and lovely old buildings.
Nice city, pretty harbour and lovely old buildings. Very easy to walk around. Nice gardens. Plenty of options for food and drink. Great base to explore the wider region, including the forest, bay and plenty of beaches.
I spent nine weeks travelling around France, and this was one of the best hotels I stayed in. The room was spacious, light, and comfortable. It was incredibly clean and tidy, and had everything you needed (lots of towels, nice bathroom products, coffee machine). The bedding and pillows were high quality, and the room was silent! It’s about a 10 minute walk from the historic centre, and a 15 minute walk to get to the train station (with a heavy suitcase). Would absolutely stay here again.
Lovely big room, with access to breakfast room and refrigerator next door. Parking is in the farm courtyard. Location is at the end of a no-through road, so no traffic at all, though only 10 minutes drive from the centre of Vannes It's a 50m walk across a farm field to a well-maintained walking track which follows a tidal creek down to the open water and a couple of great cafe restaurants.
We had an excellent stay at this hotel. The staff at the front desk was professional and kind. Our room was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. We appreciated the complimentary water, cookies, and tea (there was coffee, which we didn't have) in our room. Good location and easy parking. The hotel had an upscale feel to it. We didn't have breakfast, so can't comment on that. Recommended!
The location was very good for getting the train to Paris CDG airport next day.
The staff were friendly and helpful. We hadn't travelled by train in France before, so they even explained the ticket system. Much fun and laughter was shared over my understanding of the related French vocabulary, which it seemed was equally confusing to them when I asked.
The hotel was exactly as expected: inexpensive (a bit like a a Travelodge or similar) but with everything needed - includeing a fan which was essential in the heat wave - and within easy walking distance of the centre of Vannes. We were able to park on the hotel site, which was an added bonus. A very good choice.
What a lovely property! This is a manor house that has been in the proprietor's family for a very long time. The location is fantastic. It's so easy to walk to the old part of Vannes and walk around the town. Breakfast was nice, and the staff were helpful and accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay there.
Great hotel with a good location in town. Nearby to all the main sites. Staff spoke good English, were friendly and understanding. They welcome dogs which is a great bonus. The parking is large and sufficient. The room had all basic amenities, good shower pressure, comfy size King bed.
The Apartment was a stones throw away from the beautiful port of Vannes. The apartment was beautifully decorated and very clean. The bed was very comfortable with lovely bedding. The kitchen had everything you needed! Highly recommend
Hotel is quite close to the marina and basically a short straight line walk to area of bars and restaurants. Vannes is a great place and this hotel is well situated to make the most of it. Secure onsite parking as well.
Good location, walking distance to central Vannes. Bolangerie next door is incredible. Market a block away and many restaurants within a few blocks. Parking is included. Washer/dryer in the apartment!
Very good location for the main routes through Vannes, and a pleasant if somewhat long walk to the old city along the canal. We have used this hotel several times now; its restaurant is excellent too
The room was very well-appointed, being most comfortable with one large, easy chair, and plenty of spaces for one's effects. Shower-room top notch. Hotel just 3 minutes from rail and coach stations.
Very spacious 2 bedroom unit, nicely outfitted. Location was close enough to be able to walk into town, 5 minutes. Big plus was the private parking space
