AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Please spend your hard earned money elsewhere. Our room was absolutely awful - we literally stood inside it for 20minutes, silently gawping at eachother in disbelief and weighing up our options (oh, and holding our noses and swatting flies). It smelt absolutely awful - like really bad blocked drains. The dead seagull laying outside under the windowsill looked like it had been there at least a week, so that probably didn’t help! We paid €223 for one night here and honestly you wouldn’t even use it to house a goat. We rang ahead to our next hotel in Normandy to ask if they could accomodate us for a further night and thanked our lucky stars they said yes. A two hour drive at 5pm was worth it all day long to get as far away as possible! This is a total rip off, just for the location I guess (but it’s TEAMING with tourists, so make sure you factor that in). OMG please believe me when I say this place is awful. If you still decide to risk it then don’t say I haven’t warned you! I’m off to argue for a refund :(

The Hotel is centrally located on Grande Rue which is the main narrow street leading to the famous abbey. Staff at the reception desk, especially Frederick, are very courteous, good listeners and helpful. Clean and comfortable bed and (although small) en-suite facilities complimented by a very good breakfast. From our bedroom window we can observe the abbey perched high up on the hill. If you truly like to experience Mont Saint Michel and is on your bucket list, forget a day trip and sleep at least a night inside its medieval walls. After the day trippers gone, the atmosphere is surreal and is really magical. Wondering around in the small hours of the day all by ourselves and no one else is like travelling back to hundreds of years right in medieval times. Truly an experience of a lifetime. Its a must and I highly recommend it !

We are not big city people and loved the peacefulness of servon. There is not supermarket in Servon and one small restaurant. However, it is really easy to get to bigger towns where you can shop for groceries, or to visit historical sites and the ocean.
Within an hour or less we were at Mt St Michel, St Malo and Granville. The countryside is beautiful and coast is only about 20 minutes. We watched as men gathered oysters from the sea and then ate them fresh at a roadside stand on our way to St. Malo. We ate amazing crepes and seafood in Granville as well.
