Sarlat is a vibrant city with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. The Saturday market is a must visit. There is plenty of international cuisine on offer if you don't care for the fois gras or canard, which are the main specialities of this region. Unless you're after a particular spot, there's no need to book as the choice is phenomenal.
After a day spent marvelling at the history of the place, Place de la Liberté is great for apéro and people watching!
Plenty of parking available - free during certain times, although free all day places less than 10 minutes from main centre.

Beautiful place, full of history.
Beautiful place, full of history. Our problem was being elderly we did
not want to hire a car. We went early September and did not realise
that a lot of the buses stop running or shorten their times. Taxis's
were difficult, no taxi rank and they are often busy.
There are some very good walking guides from the information bureau
so we were able to enjoy them.
Restaurant were everywhere, with scrumptious food.

I've been to Sarlat several times, but never stayed for so long. In summer it's very interesting and beautiful. Most of the tourism was French national tourism. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, street entertainers. There is a huge market on Saturdays (arrive before 9h) and a night market on Thursday evenings (17H-11H). We stayed just outside and it was ideal. Parking is free after 19h, although tricky to find. The city itself is full of medieval buildings (it has nearly 70 officially protected buildings) and is gorgeous to wander around. Highly recommended. It's also near dozens of beautiful villages, such as Domme or La roque-Gageac.

This hotel is in an excellent location in Sarlat. Beautiful building and clean, lovely spa consisting of a steam room and sauna. Most of the staff are fantastic - very caring and attentive to excellence but definitely stretched thin. Understand that staff in France is hard to find so these guys did well all things considered!
The location -a little way out of Sarlat-la-canéda so best to have a car, but meant it was very peaceful and cool. Our check in was friendly and professional as were all the staff. The pool fantastic. The terrace and restaurant both very pleasant - choice of regional dishes nicely presented. Our bedroom comfortable.
The room was excellent, comfortable bed and very clean. We have been travelling through France all week staying in lots of different hotels and this has been without doubt the best. There is parking right out the front and they also have some of their own private garages, locked away just down the street.
Superb hotel in an excellent location a short walk from Sarlat old town.
Christine is an excellent host & provides a delicious breakfast which is made up of local products & her own homemade cakes.
She is also extremely helpful if you need any assistance & goes out of her way to ensure you are ok.
All the staff were friendly and very helpful. They recommended some excellent restaurants The hotel is in a great location in the beautiful city of Sarlat.
