Our host was very welcoming and fun, knowledgable and proud of the superb local food, including ham he'd cured himself, some great beers, 1-2 brilliant cheeses from near the Italian border, and a nice aperitif we had as a group.
Our twin room had a great view of the mountains we'd walked over, there was a nice big garden and easy to use laundry facilities. The centre of the village of saint veran is just a short walk away.

Basic a bit old-fashioned hotel, probably more cosy in winter when snow covers all the surroundings. Basic room, not very big, on upper floors, partly reached by elevator. Personnel was not so friendly except the young fellow later at the dinner, which was standard level. Breakfast was good. Only one people spoke english.
At Chalet le Genepy with amazing views!, rooms are equipped with a balcony with mountain view. At the hostel each room is equipped with a wardrobe and a shared bathroom.

Location was absolutely stunning, everything was clean, beds were comfy enough, breakfast was good, definately recommend having diner at the chalet (chef's choice) and very friendly staff.
Breakfast was great and Covid-proof. Breakfast reserved the day before and served at the individual table. Breakfast is very tasteful with a lot of choice (egg, cereals, bread, yoghurt, fruit, ...). The view from the hotel is breathtaking. Location is perfect for hikers and mountainbikers. Restaurant food is very tasteful.
The hotel comprises several buildings connected by corridors and elevators. Nice and special architecture, respecting the surrounding village. Great superior room, enough storage place. Good bathroom and shower. Friendly staff. Breakfast and valet parking included in the room price.
It's a beautiful hotel and with the available restaurant, bar, and SPA pool you could spend the whole stay in the hotel as many seemed to do. The garage is very useful and practical, Staff are generally kind although not extra-efficient (see what we didn't like...)
The hotel is beautiful! The views were unmatched and the rooms were amazing. The staff were all so friendly and happy to help us even with a slight language barrier sometimes. We really enjoyed our stay.
