The property was set in spectacular grounds with wonderful walks around the lakeside. Very easy to get to.. beautiful attention to detail in front of the owners chateau. Safe and secure with parking for our car and the Wi-Fi was very good. It was warm and comfortable and had plenty of storage.

Beautiful clean, characterful house with a lovely garden and great view onto it from our room. Exceptionally friendly. lovely hosts. Superb breakfast made specially for us - we were asked if we wanted salted or unsalted butter, how many minutes for the boiled eggs etc. Brilliant!

A well equipped cottage in the garden of the hosts in a lovely village not far off the motorway. The cottage is secluded from the house and has a lovely sunny, private patio.
Sylvie and her husband are wonderful hosts, and very knowledgeable about the area.
There was a selection of local wines/ beers to purchase in the cottage which was very welcoming after a long journey.
Breakfast was continental style with many local produce
We were travelling with our two dogs so Sylvie made us a reservation at a local restaurant for our evening meal that we could take the dogs…will definitely return

St-Hellier and surrounding villages and hamlets together with the nearby market town of Saint Saens are beautiful places in the stunning Pay de Bray clay vale district of Normandy with typical brick and wood architecture and steep sloped scarplands forested by beech woods and open to walkers and horse riders. The petite gite is a perfect cottage located by the Varenne river with wonderful views over the countryside giving visitors a memorable taste of rural Normandy.
