St Chaffrey is actually a small village off the main road between Briancon and Chantmerle - it's Chantmerle that is a ski base and where this apartment is located. It has everything you need except maybe a large supermarket.

We stayed in Chantemerle which is a quiet village, it has a number of nice bars and restaurants, but they weren't very lively at the end on Jan 2020. However the skiing is superb :-). A wide variety of runs, and NO queues for lifts.....
Amiable and thinking ahead staff and owners. Closeness to start of the Col Granon. Locker room for bicycles. The clever design of the hotel towards the road - the trees almost completely shield the noise. The presence of a shopping center right next to the hotel. Very easy to reach and find since located on the main road between Briancon and Col Lauteret. Very good food at the restaurant.
