Revin is set in a very nice area of France - Ardennes, but...
Revin is set in a very nice area of France - Ardennes, but the town is a little run down and dirty in places with a lot of dog fouled footways. Lacks the expected 'fine' eating places / restaurants.
A good base from which to explore the wider area.

Revin is not really a pretty town.
Revin is not really a pretty town. Unfortunately it is suffering from the closing of big companies and only 6000 of the 14000 people remain. The buildings are grey and sad. we can see the river easily from everywhere which bring the only little charm. It is surrounded by beautiful forests but we could not go there for a walk because hunting was going on and signs to warn us were everywhere.
We were advised a nice restaurant (la bonne source) and people were friendly.
