Informed the hotel that it was our honeymoon & they kindly upgraded us. The balcony was a real stand out feature and the staff noticed we were looking a bit peaky upon checkout (!) & gave us bottles of water which was really kind.

We chose Pau as a good stop-off point between Hendaye and Toulouse.
The city has a lot to offer with the chateau, cathedral and the River Gave running through it. It's a very pretty place with the backdrop of the Pyrenees. We discovered it's an important centre for kayaking and happened to be there the day the Olympic torch went through the city on its way to Paris 2024.
We tried to hire a car one day, but neither Hertz nor Avis could accommodate us, so if you're planning to hire a car, we'd recommend doing it ahead of time. We were there two days and two nights and I felt a third night would have been good.

Pau is a great city to visit, full of restaurants/cafes and boutique shops. The chateau is well worth a visit. The esplanade provides great views of the Pyrenees and the Beaumont Park/Villa area is well worth a walk. Lourdes is about 1/2 hour by car and Jurancon wine area is right on the doorstep. The indoor market is one of the best we have visited in France, with an amazing array of delicious produce. Overall we found this a vivrant enjoyable place to stay.

I visited this city second time because of trip to Artouste.
I visited this city second time because of trip to Artouste. You have to stay in Pau. I was travelling by train. It is very pity that there is no coordination between train and bus connection. I mean public transport. Especially if you want to travel to Artouste from Bayonne par example. It is not possible to combine the different transport and to change plans of the trip because of weather.

Beautiful old city with stunning views of The Pyrenees.
Beautiful old city with stunning views of The Pyrenees. L’Aragon restaurant on Boulevard cooked typical French local recipes. Staff lovely. Interesting French Resistance museum open Wed Saturday afternoons well worth a visit! Art Museum too.
Splendid location in the centre of town. We were very lucky that the concierge arranged for us to park for free right outside the door. There is a pay car park 2 minutes walk away. Our room (4) was on the lower ground floor and was huge. It was set up for disabled guests and was a suite and very well equipped. The only downside was a poor WIFI connection which could only be obtained by standing by the open window. There was a good choice of foods for breakfast and the hotel is within a short walk of several restaurants.
Clean, modern, comfortable. A very enjoyable stay.
We had a spacious room on 2nd floor. Bed generously sized/comfortable. Shower excellent. Very nice to have a coffee machine in room.
Also liked the choices of comfortable foyer and landing seating areas.
Gated parking and electric car charging points available.
On site restaurant w a discount for residents helps the fact that the hotel is situated away from other restaurant choices and a drive from the town centre.
Handy for road travel links
Easy to access, on the outskirts of Pau. Convenient stopover before crossing the Pyrenees. Provided all the basics. Private parking near the front door of the hotel. Kettle and snacks provided in the room was a plus. Restaurant onsite (we did not use it, but we could have). It happened to be near two stages of the Tour de France, which added interest. Helpful host.
Well established hotel in a substantial villa on a side street close to the centre of town, with a pleasant garden entrance beneath an art deco canopy. Comfortable room with en suite shower room ingeniously inserted into it. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Good value. It felt authentically French.
We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is a modern building in a central location by the parc Beaumont. Staff from cleaning to the reception was always attentive, welcoming, and efficient. Rooms are large and clean with good A/C. The high speed internet is good enough for online meetings most of the time.
The location is absolutely fabulous 👌 Right in the centre of town, with an exit straight onto the Boulevard des Pyrénées. We went to Pau for the Classic Grand Prix and this was the perfect location, right near the track. We'll book ahead for another year's Grand Prix!
Fully automated hotel. Didn't see any member of staff, except friendly cleaning lady in morning. Had to use machine to gain entry with a automated slip with number. All very well done. Hotel very clean. Was good for our one night stop in Pau. Free car park too.
This historic hotel is right In the centre of all the action. So easy to access all the sites from the hotel. Great restaurants and bars really close.
The breakfast was absolutely amazing every morning. This hotel exceeded our expectations.
Pascal, the front desk man, was very kind and very friendly. I hope to meet hime someday again. The breakfast he prepared for us was excellent. Pau is a great place to visit and stay and this hotel made it even better.
The apartment was absolutely comfortable and clean, in a quiet neighborhood and with private parking. It is close to essential shops and to city centre. Hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
The location is at the city centre as stated and its close to where you can get best food, shop, recreation for kids and lots more. Just amazing.
I bet that I will stay there again whenever I visit PAU again
Studio apartment with everything you need to have a pleasant stay in Pau. 4 km from the centre but with a lot of stores and restaurants nearby. private parking and lockbox entry make it very easy to check in.
Incredible location in beautiful Pau. Near the castle, bars, and restaurants. Jerome, the host, was fast to answer any questions you have. He also had a welcome bottle of wine, a classy gesture
The room, parking arrangements, breakfast and staff were all excellent - I would recommend the hotel as a very good location from which to see Pau, which is a lovely city.
A clean, decent room, very good for a short stay, and for a reasonable price. Free parking outside the hotel. The bus stop nearby if you want to visit the city centre.
A large parking garage is steps away from the hotel. The location can't be beat and the staff was very friendly. Very close to restaurants and entertainment.
