It is a rather stylish seaside town.
It is a rather stylish seaside town. Lots of good eating places and a world-class marina with many global yachting events taking place. The streets are clean and well-organised. The cycling infrastructure around the town makes it an enjoyable and healthy means of getting around. Also, the longer-distance cycling paths around the region are a real delight and well worth the effort to explore.

A lively town even in the middle of February with enough things to see and do to keep you busy. The esplanade is a wonderful place to walk on a sunny day with sufficient places open to eat to have a choice. Several museums open plus the little zoo and a heated sea-water swimming pool.

The sea front is not a stunning example of architectural planning but the beach is amazing. Miles of flat clean sand even at high tide the water is shallow out to a considerable distance. A few nice bars and sea front brasserie style restaurants with good sea food; pizza burgers etc but not much higher end cuisine. You can walk around the town easily and there is a passenger ferry to the old town (1.10 euro each way). Great place to walk and relax. We stayed on a busy Ironman weekend so the town was full of bikes and athletes - would recommend hiring a bike to explore further.

Very comfortable apartment that is part of a bigger holiday residence/hotel, with sea view on the outskirts of les Sables-d’Olonne. The apartment is privately owned and basically consists of two converted connected hotel rooms. It is well equipped and has a large balcony where you can enjoy the sunset. The complex has two nice pools, bike renting facllities and shops are nearby and above all the lovely owners that welcomed us with a brioche and a bottle of rose! Sea front is a 5 minute walk, with a nice beach about 15 min walk away.
We had a lovely room with a sea view and were welcomed to the hotel by very friendly reception staff. The hotel has a private garage specially for bicycles which we appreciated. The majority of the restaurants were a 10 minute walk away. Below the hotel is a great sandy beach which disappears at high tide. Breakfast is an extensive buffet (at least by French standards) taken in the dining room with a sea view. Recommended.
What a lovely hotel - the moment you step through the door you are made to feel so welcome! First off, we had a secure garage as promised; the room was excellent (not sure how I overlooked booking a room overlooking the sea!), restaurant was spot-on and the breakfast lavish. Although everything was good about this hotel, the absolute stars were the staff.
Location excellent - right on the port, 2 minutes walk from beach. Lots of restaurants & bars nearby (but we ate in the hotel). Good to experience local life - especially from the bar next door until 2.30am! No problem, we had been warned, & we were so tired after a long days drive we had no problem sleeping.
The resort is very nice. No need to leave the hotel during your stay. The rooms have a decent size and are clean and tidy. Service is perfect and well organised. Restaurant has a good menu with amazing dishes. Walking distance to the beach.
Location is excellent, minutes from the beach. The bed was the comfiest I can remember in any hotel I’ve stayed in. Room was absolutely fine, everything we needed for one night away. The reception was pleasant and so were the staff.
Great location. I did not have their breakfast but I did have a coffee from the classic French café that is part of the hotel with some fresh pastries from the Patisserie that is just around the corner.
location was good, bedrooms are basic but a good size and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful - we could easily fit our bikes in the bedrooms.
the hotel accommodated our late arrival.
Comfortable, modern hotel within easy reach of the harbours and beach. Had breakfast both days, it was excellent and good value for money. Friendly staff who recommended a superb restaurant.
Very kind host who gave us all necessary information. Also host could speak English which is very rare in France 😅 Comfortable bed and vey clean apartment.
