My stay was very comfortable despite the freezing weather. The apartment has central heating, a fully equipped kitchen, good domestic wifi (better than hotels in my experience), ample free parking and is in a quiet area. It is a short walk down the hill to the shops and there is a lovely walking/cycling path along the river that apparently stretches from Cherbourg to le Mont Saint Michel. Good access to surrounding areas, and only an hour from the Ferry at Caen/Ouistreham. There's even a hot pizza dispensing machine near the river, and I saw a mobile burger bar (I think) one night too.
A great little spot.

Le Clos Castel is a traditional little domain of Normandy, right outside Carentan.
We were welcomed by Clint which is a kind person and he showed us our cozy room.
The room was clean and tidy, every piece of furniture was well preserved and we had the nicest view from our window of green fields and a forest.
The breakfast was a surprise also, with all kind of cheese, delicious croissants and fresh fruits.
We found out that Clint and Carol bought this place and transformed it for other people to enjoy the beautiful garden and nature right outside the house.
And for the price we payed, it was a bargain!
We recommend Le Clos Castel with all our heart!

We like to stay at Ibis. Simple, small but comfortable. Always clean. Check in staff was very friendly and helpful. Buffalo Grill next door was a great place to eat and we got a 10% discount when we showed our keycard. Breakfast was good with several options.
