The apartment has a good location, in the centre, with free parking in the church square outside. The entrance is up some stone steps to the right of the bar.
Visitors should be aware there are lots of steps in the apartment, quite narrow and steep... Not a problem for us, but worth knowing.
We had a good meal at Le passe muraille. Shopping was possible at the local town shops or a large supermarket on the outskirts.

Great stop for us... from Belgium to south of France is too long to make in one go. This made for a great stop about 1/2 way in a pretty yet not touristic region. Lots of dolmens to visit close by and Oradour
What a little gem of the hotel we found! Visiting friends in a rural area this was 15 mins drive from them so ideal for us. It was lovely and quiet. The hosts were wonderful, very attentive and even had a delicious dinner ready for us when we arrived later than expected. Breakfast was included in the very reasonable price and there was a good choice of cold and hot selections.

Just remember that you’re staying in a spare bedroom in the host’s house, not a hotel, but don’t let that put you off.
Very responsive with messages before the visit, giving details to access the location. It is in a very quiet small village, yet very close to la souterraine and the main road. The house is fabulous, and the room was very comfortable and clean. Hosts are really great too!
This hotel could have been such a great experience with a few changes. It was clean and excellently positioned, but you can't really ignore the fact that the water was cold, there was no plug, and there were no curtains.
It is very much off the beaten track but very good for an overnight stay on our France road trip. The host is English and very welcoming. Good tips on where to eat in La Souterraine and very good breakfast
Wanted to be walking distance to station, shops and centre of town. Location perfect. Lovely view of city from the room. Wonderful food smells from the restaurant connected to the hotel.
Good sized room, clean, decent bed, elevator to upper floors, very friendly staff at reception, large free car park, short drive to La Souterraine. Swimming pool during the season.
