It is the best place for visiting Illiers. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable and the bathroom unusually roomy. We appreciated the light fixtures that are more flexible than in most other places. The parking was perfect.

Perfect for overnight stop on way back to UK. Very dog friendly apartment with enclosed garden. Well equipped kitchen. Not many pubs or restaurants in the town but excellent Café serving beer in the town square a very short walk from apartment. Small restaurant next to pub. Lots of parking in large car park opposite.

Rosilynn and Vincent are lovely hosts. Just about everything is homemade, even the delicious cereal. We had an evening meal there, pre arranged, and it was amazing..
There are plenty of dog walking areas, too. The honey is a must!

Illiers-Combray is a very small town where Marcel Proust used to spend some vacation as a child. So this is a place where "Proustiens" go specially to visit the home-museum that looks like during his childhood. The museum is really worth the trip. The rest of the village is very tiny. The Pré Catelan is a small park, very romantic.
It was excellent - we were spending a day in Illiers Combray to visit some sites, especially the Marcel Proust museum, and it was so close to the train station I did not believe it - but it was still on a lovely residential street. The host who checked us in was friendly and amusing, and the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was good - not fancy but very tasty and fresh.

We were visiting family in the area. The location was great! Chartes is 30 minutes away, and illiers-combray was very charming. The B&B was brand new!! Very nice and spacious. Free parking and close to shops.
