Disaster! The pictures lie as the room had no duvet and no pillows, not to mention missing bed sheets. We were welcomed just by plain mattresses, had to sleep in clothes and on makeshift pillows.
Actually, no room had any duvets etc - just mattresses and totally empty wardrobes.
Security? None! The message we received upon booking about collecting the keys to the property and the room was totally irrelevant as the place was... just open wide. No key to the front door, no key to the room, so for the night we barricaded our room with an office type desk (serving as a table). Actually, there were 4 rooms there, each opened wide, so we could choose the 'least unpleasant' one.
The bathroom couldn't be locked as the whole latch and half of the door frame was missing.
The kitchen was huge and actually equipped, yet no kettle or a single chair in sight, and the main table was an old billard table covered with a piece of raw pvc board.
The stairs leading to the rooms felt 200 years old and the entrance area smelled some really old stench, so that makes us doubt whether all the great reviews from quite recently were genuine.
Cleanliness? The rooms themselves - not bad, but nothing really matters if u don't have anything to sleep under or lock your room with.
All in all - never ever again and we are actioning a full refund from booking.com

we loved the space, cozy and with everything you need
The ibis budget Thionville Yutz is located in Basse-Yutz, on the outskirts of Thionville. It offers free WiFi access throughout and the A31 Highway Exit is opposite the hotel.
The hotel is located in a beautiful building in a kind of park. Interiors are very nice and imply the rich history of the place. Personnel are very polite and helpful, all of them are speaking English.
The room was big and comfortable, with a nice style of interior. The bed was super comfortable! Big bathroom with a bath tub.
The breakfast was good, and again in a very nice interior :) We also had dinner in a restaurant of the hotel and were surprised how great the food was, we enjoyed a lot.

This is a beautiful old villa with 4 different style rooms, and a very comminicative helpful and nice host, if you are searching for a place to stay in this area, do not hesitate to book it because it is a really unique experience, not like the "boring" hotel rooms...
I was the only guest that day, and I felt like I'm a proncess in an old castle :)
Beautiful hotel, large sized rooms, lovely modern bathroom whilst bedroom area maintained in character, food excellent, lovely to sit outside on the terrace for dinner, great value for money, plenty of room to park
The hotel from the outside looks great with a beautiful garden. The welcoming by the little son on his bicycle to bring us to the parking was very cute.
