Chateau du Blanc Buisson, hotel in Gisay

Situated in Saint-Pierre-du-Mesnil, in a historic building, 37 km from Golf of Bois-Francs, Chateau du Blanc Buisson is a bed and breakfast with pool with a view and garden.

The chateau (built end 13th century) is beautiful and authentic. It is surrounded by a moat and a lovely park. It is full of historic artefacts and decorations. We stayed in the donjon and it felt like stepping back in history. The 3 bedrooms are very authentic. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is modern. It has a great swimming pool which we had to ourselves. The breakfast was nice. We definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a stay in a historic castle.

Le Comptoir du Paradis, hotel in Gisay

Situated in La Ferté-Frênel, Le Comptoir du Paradis has a terrace, restaurant, bar, and free WiFi throughout the property.

The team were brilliant, from check-in to a first frosty glass of French beer after an exceptionally difficult journey from Cheshire in the UK, the experience was lovely. Whilst I wrestled with my low word count French vocab, the staff were helpful and their patience was well recieved. We had two challenging dietary issues with two family members and the kitchen team were able to support their needs. Loved the conversation with other European travellers after dinner and catching the opening ceremony at the bar with the staff was quite the moment in time. To sum up, a genuinely warm welcome to France and the beginning of our holiday.
