Beautiful place to relax away from hustle and bustle. 30 min ride from Narbonne. Friendly people. The chateau du Puits es Pratx is walking distance from center. Very hard working and friendly staff. The wedding we attended there was beautiful. Old world charm is the best way I can describe this area. What a treat. The La Table Casino had great drinks and wonderful food and the deserts were delicious.

We stayed at La Someil which is a short way out of Ginestas...
We stayed at La Someil which is a short way out of Ginestas and is a very popular Port for barges on the Canal Du Midi. The bridge across the Canal is very narrow but passable for most cars and there are excellent eateries on both sides. Do not expect a shopping experience here though. If you enjoy the canal views and a glass of anything drinkable then this is the place for you.
The property is a lovely place to stay in the village of Ginestas. We were there to attend a wedding at the local chateau and it was ideal. As well as that, it was a really good location for venturing into Narbonne and Carcassonne. Margaret was the ideal host and she was extremely welcoming each morning while we had breakfast. The drinks available in the roof terrace were very fairly priced and the sun terrace is an ideal place to sit peacefully under the French sun. We would highly recommend L’Orchidée.
Maison du Midi is a gorgeous apartment in Ginestas. The photos do not do it justice.
The kitchen is well equipped, the lounge area spacious (we kept the sofa bed pulled out and still had plenty of space) and the bedroom is huge!
The owners are lovely and welcoming, they were really accommodating allowing my brother to arrive early. There is plenty of parking around Ginestas and it was an easy walk (less than ten minutes) to the local wedding venue for which we were visiting.

Fabienne was massively attentive, first surprising us by revealing we had the run of the entire first floor of the house! She put on beautiful breakfasts, with pastries plus lovely home-made jams and madeleine cakes. Best of all, she went out of her way to drive us to the nearby Le Somail one morning while also directing us on a relaxing walk back to Ginestas along the Canal du Midi. A wonderful stay in a very pretty little village!
Lovely comfy cool room, slept really well. Right in the middle of Ginestas, but not noisy. Lovely breakfast served on the terrace with flowers and trees all around. Friendly owners who had a nice chat with us in the morning. Strongly recommend.
An immaculate hotel in the middle of Ginestas. We were there for a wedding and it was the ideal 2 night base. Very clean and the young couple plus cute baby were delightful.
