A charming hotel that's larger than I expected it would be, but still small enough to retain a personal feel with the staff. The restaurant was a welcomed option on an otherwise quiet night in the town, serving a tasty and good value menu du jour in addition to a regular menu. The single room was simple but perfectly adequate and comfortable.

An astonishing building in a beautiful setting, it reminded me (a bit) of the Grand Budapest Hotel somewhere in Xero's late-middle age. A piano / singer duo was performing in the lounge upon my arrival, the room was a good size and comfortable, and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. Highly recommended.

This hotel is in a beautiful, quiet, country setting very close to the center of town. We were only going to stay one night but decided to stay on for a second. The owner was a huge help to us in planning our ongoing hike, transportation and accommodations.

We absolutely loved the turn-of-the century style and decor of the house. The room and balcony were very spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. The manager was lovely and helpful - we felt that nothing would be too much trouble. Breakfast was great. In truth, some aspects of the property are run-down and the grounds need attention but we were just delighted by the charm, quiet setting and unique features of this house. In a world of characterless modernity , this was a real joy to find and we felt privileged to have been able to experience it.
