It is in a beautiful calm forest but only 5 minutes away to a bustling city.
Everything was good in the property and the bed is huge.

We stayed in Dole as a base to explore the area as we are thinking of settling there. The town has a lot of historic charm/architecture etc;
also pleasant the presence of water everywhere (river Doubs, canal)
and large forests nearby. Like a lot of French provincial towns, a bit
"dead" on Sundays (and even Mondays when most shops etc are
closed, but that's normal in many parts of France). Friendly convivial atmosphere generally except if you want to eat after 2 pm: lunch time is lunch time, and that's from 12 to 2! Again, very French outside the big cities.... But from what we saw it would seem a pleasant place to live with quite a good community life/activities and all facilities including a several shopping centres, and a good base for tourists to explore the Jura mouintains or the Bourgogne wine areas. Extremely well connected transport wise with motorways
in all directions linking into the national motorway grid.

We left our hotel bookings abit late but
we were fortunate to be able to stay at Hotel de la Cloche......it was excellent. Staff extremly professional, hotel in all was professionally run ....nothing was too much trouble (ideal for a business man too). They welcome families too..across the road from the hotel is great park and late afternoon there is a Carousel ....just delightful. We did not have breakfast in the hotel but it looked very good. We had several drinks and great coffee.
The position of the hotel was perfect .....central in the middle if the town. Many resturants close by easy walking distance, plus an excellent one next door to the Hotel.

We LOVED Dole!!!
We LOVED Dole!!! It is really a quiet and most picturesque town full of history and architectural wonders. But Alas! we didn't find any Tabacs selling postcards and NO cafés open on Sunday morning - oh just the one, beside la Notre Dame cathedral! In fact, apart from the usual patisserie-boulangerie places, there was NOTHING open on Sunday in Dole at all!!!!!!

Only visited for one night, but really taken by the town. Beautiful walk along the canal, lovely restaurants in a gorgeous canal side setting. Gorgeous old town with a fabulous church at its centre. Lovely wide streets and narrow quirky streets. Fascinating to see Louis Pasteur’s birth and workplace.
Would love to take a boat ride on the canal next time.
Stayed in Gite L’table, a real gem of a place to stay.
Ate in Le Moulin with 3 children who loved the pizzas, and tried moules frites for the first time. A success!
We will revisit.
Easy to find, easy checkin, excellent communication with host. The apartment is the most charming we've seen on our trip. Small but well designed to provide comfort in the space. Lots of hooks to hang things, good wifi, good lighting. Tourist information and directions for operation of appliances provided. The location is excellent for visiting Dole. Everything is just steps away: tourist information, groceries, restaurants, the perched cat trail...
The hotel is in a spectacular setting with views across the hills and lots of walking straight from the entrance which was great as I had my two dogs with me. We also discovered a lovely walk around the walls of the beautiful sanctuary church and grounds. I had a long drive from Italy and so this was a huge bonus for me and four legged friends. I had a lovely evening meal and breakfast and the staff were very helpful.
It is a hotel that is super straight forward. Love to have a stopover driving through France. Constant price, nice room, minimum interactions, great self service facilities. this the second time we visited and we will definitely use it as our future stopover h/motel. Also, Dole centre is a small cute place to take a stroll:)
Dole isn't a large town and this apartment was an easy walk from the center and parks and the EV6 bike route. It's probably less than 10 minute walk from the train station. The views are quite nice and the apartment had everything we needed including a place to lock our bikes in the interior courtyard.
We were traveling with a one year old and she enjoyed the toys that were in the loft for her to play with. The living room and kitchen were spacious. We also loved the location as it was just near everything in old town. My husband is from Dole so he very much was familiar with the area.
The location is not great but the hotel created an oasis of outdoor space that is charming and relaxing. The rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated and the decor throughout the bar and restaurants combines contemporary and traditional wonderfully, including sculpture and art.
Wonderful room with beautiful decorations. The bed is comfortable and there is a nice shower. Very nice breakfast with local cheese. Short walk to Dole for restaurants and sightseeing. The hosts are nice and accommodating.

Inexpensive hotel but very comfortable. Staff was very good and the breakfast was surprisingly good. Hotel is located off the Eurovelo 6 and the hotel was kind enough to store our tandem bicycle.

point is price 80 Euro w/o breakfast is not fitting to this kind of simple hotel
