Our room was large, clean, and comfortable and equipped with air-conditioning and a fantastic shower. The village is a lovely peaceful place to stay. The manager, Pierre, is very good at his job and speaks excellent English. He and his team are all friendly and hard-working. The bar was frequented by locals, which is always a good sign. The food was very good, particularly the starters. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

This 18th-century house is set in a tree-lined park of 2 hectares featuring a swimming pool. Seasonal French cuisine is served in the gastronomic restaurant, and the hotel also offers a sauna.

It looked a beautiful place on the website, but in reality a bit disappointing.

Located in Berneuil, 15 km from Saintes Train Station, Le Saintongeais provides accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

This is a rustic, well worn, traditional, privately run hotel in a small but very pleasant rural village. The hotel is the cafe, bar, tabac, restaurant (and hotel) for the village. It is an old story book hotel! Everything happened in the few days we stayed. A phenomenal thunderstorm overnight with some flooding, tree damage and power outage for village. Power came back for breakfast but went off again in afternoon into the night so cooking impossible. Owner confirmed power was on at town of Pons a few miles away so we had to go and dine there. Final day quite uneventful..The family was great and rallied round to look after their guests

The location was perfect for what we needed, the breakfast was plentiful and really tasty. The rooms were clean, spacious and the owners were very welcoming. The gardens were brilliant for the children to play in.

Coming to Gemozac for work, I found this cosy, fully equiped room attached to the main house but with a private entrance. The lovely owner could not have been more welcoming. With secure under cover parking, I would thoroughly recommend staying here.
