Surrounded by the Chaîne des Puys volcanoes and Massif Central forests, Clermont-Ferrand is one of the oldest towns in France. It is home to a rich Gaul legacy, and was the starting point of the 1st Crusade to Jerusalem in 1095. Its name was a consequence of the fusion between the bishop-ruled town of ‘Clermont’ and its neighbour ‘Montferrand’, created by the Auvergne counts to counterbalance the clergy.
The Chaîne des Puys is approximately 10 km from the city and is composed of several volcanic cones and domes, with the Puy de Dôme as its highest point. Guesthouses, B&Bs and rural accommodation in Clermont-Ferrand’s outskirts allow you to enjoy these natural surroundings.
Its charming historic centre includes the Gothic masterpiece of the Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption. The popular Place de Jaude has the statue of the Gaul hero Vercingetorix, sculpted by Frédéric Bartholdi, creator of the Statue of Liberty.
The city is also famous for the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. Full of trendy shops, busy terraces, and great restaurants, the city has a laidback rhythm. Take advantage of the Clermont-Ferrand hotel deals available on Booking.com and enjoy this charming Auvergne city.

Interesting city with fine old buildings and a lot of arty shops. Museum showing how important it was as a settlement from Stone Age times.
Lovely vibrant square lined with cafes and restaurants.

The centre of Clermont-Ferrand is nice if you ask me.
The centre of Clermont-Ferrand is nice if you ask me. The cathedral and a lot of Old-World style buildings take my breath and mind away.
Besides that, there are a lot of quality restaurants to be found (for example Pitaya, quality Thai food for a very good price. Or a Lebanon restaurant right in front of the cathedral, quality food and excellent service). On-Air fitness is to be recommended as well, if you're a fitboy/fitgirl! Friendly people all around occupying an excellent gym.
The roads in the area are beautiful for motorcyclists (or cars and campers and such, but please drive as fast as possible haha).
I have to say that I only like the centre of CF. The suburbs etc. are ''nothing'' to look at and visit in my experience.
But if you make it to the centre, and stick to the country- and mountainroads, oh boy/girl! You're in for a good experience.

A basic no frills hotel close to the motorway, but not particularly noisy. Ideal for a one or two night stay. Couldn't hear the airport. Our paperwork said we were in the ground floor but we were on the 1st, there was a lift. Situated in a hotel region of a business park. Several restaurants around but we drove into the city to eat and explore (25mins in rush hour) and parked in underground carpark near Cathedral.

Good restaurants a few steps away from Tours Gregoire. In Avenue and L'Stantan we had delicious meals. Easy walk to Place de La Victoire and the Cathedral. Lecoq gardens had lovely spring flowers and lots of students enjoying the sun as it is near the university.

Clermont-Ferrand is the place if you love nature.
Clermont-Ferrand is the place if you love nature. It is a small city you can navigate on foot or a single bus (B)! The Navettes take you to the best places outside the city: Parc Montjuzet, Volcania and Panoramiques du Dome. The best thing is that the Navette costs you just €1.60!!! If you love hiking, here is your paradise. The chain of Puys is a feast, not to forget the visit to Puy De Dome is a must. The Cathedral of Clermont is another marvel built of Black stones (volcanic stones). Perhaps the only Cathedral in Black in the world standing out like a Majestic Black Stallion in the centre of the city. It has nice bars and restos right around Jaude and enough to stroll around. Stay around Jaude and you can do almost everything easily. Clermont is also the cradle of Michelin (and it goes without saying!)

Clermont Ferrand is really an industrial city but it does have an old quarter which is worth seeing. The modern Oceania sits perfectly at the edge of this old quarter which is a few minutes walking distance. It is also right next to the main shopping area.
We also found a first class restaurant, again, only a few minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel is clean and comfortable with ample secure parking. The room was well appointed and the views were magnificent. Staff members were very helpful.
The room was available from noon which was very useful for the purpose of our trip. The breakfast buffet was very good. The room was larger than we'd expected for the price. They had no problem allowing us in with our dog which is why I chose the hotel. Only a one nighter but comfortable, a cute little bar, heating was excellent and customer controlled ! Staff friendly without being sycophantic . If we need to stay over in Clermont Ferrand again then this place will be chosen.
The hotel is wonderfully modern, perfectly located for a stopover when driving back from Frances South or Atlantic coast. Family room option was superb, tram stop on the doorstep and breakfast buffet outstanding! Secure parking a massive plus. Didn’t expect it to be this good. Pictures online don’t do this place any justice. It is much nicer in reality. Staff were super helpful, recommending restaurants etc and efficient in processing our booking. Top notch!
The location is good, as it is close to the city center. The hotel is very modern and nice - as on the pictures. It has a very good value price ratio. The fitness center met our expectations. Towels and water were provided and there were enough machines to work out. The staff provided us spontaneously a list of open restaurants on Sunday, which was really helpful.
This is not a hotel! If you book this on Booking it is listed like a hotel but it's not. It's a short-stay apt that isn't really serviced. Ok size apartment for a family of 4. Nice to have a small kitchen and real dining table. Ok location. Decent parking for $5 per day.
A fabulous & unique hotel & we were looked after extremely well. Able to park our motorbikes outside the front door & a very pleasant walk into town. Nice outside space to relax in, will definitely return when next in Clermont.
The room was well apponted, the bed comfortable and the bathroom very clean. Breakfast included a wide range of delicious options. The parking was free and onsite and access to the hotel was quick and easy from the highway.
Breakfast was generous and diverse. We liked the hotel and its pet-friendly attitude. Price was fantastic and hard to believe. Great was also to have walking facilities for the dog and a restaurant near by.
The apartment is clean, spacious, secure, comfortable, bright, and well equipped. And the location is very good, as well.
I look forward to returning to Clermont-Ferrand and to this apartment.
This is a very clean, modern hotel, coveniently placed near restaurants, which makes it an ideal good value stopover accommodation.
The reception staff are excellent, efficient and friendly.
Very difficult to find the property. Even with the google maps not easy to see the hotel. It's a side door by the supermarket entrance. I passed it by twice before actually recognizing it.
The location of the hotel is rather good, about a 10 minute walk to the city centre of Clermont. It also has a supermarket, boulangerie and some fast food places around the corner.
We ate dinner and it was very good.
My husband spoke with the manager before we left and as usual he was very helpful with our future bookings with your Hotel group.
