We choose chateau thierry based on its commutable location...
We choose chateau thierry based on its commutable location to reims and Paris. It was perfect for both. 3 hours from calais. 1 hr 3 to chelles gournay (then train/metro to paris) 38 mins to reims.
As a big family we found eating out tricky In chateau thierry not many places appeared to want us there or simple couldn't hold us. But Le 95 was a perfect little gem with the best most helpful staff we've ever encountered.
Free parking car park massive bonus.
We tried the local bakeries. All very good, doughnut shop absokutly wonderful! Supermarket well stocked. We also tried the carrefour interspersed and soft play all as to be expected.

The Marine Memorial was amazing and having my father drink...
The Marine Memorial was amazing and having my father drink from the Devil Dog Fountain, as he is a member of the Military order of the Devil Dogs and a former 5th marine, was an extremely humbling experience

The hotel is situated in a beautiful setting, on a small hill with nice nature views. The building is also beautiful and it has a very good restaurant (decent breakfasts and great dinners). We had no time for the spa, but it looks quite good and also has a number of treatments with (according to the photos) good brands (Esthederm). The gym is not bad at all - much more than usual hotel gyms, nearly a proper city gym with machines and free weights (plus some cardio equipment).
I’ve been in hotels in 23 countries and this was the best!! The hostess enthusiastically greeted us and let us in early after a long trans Atlantic flight. The breakfast while costing extra is well worth the price as it is delicious and enough to last the entire day. Literally across the street is a world class Indian restaurant. Close by are American WWI monuments and the Belleau Wood battlefield which is a must see. If staying in this neck of the woods you must stay here
Nice hotel with good amenities and a comfortable size bedroom. The possibility to dine outside is definitely a plus with the nice view.
Choice in the restaurant is fine and the daily special is good value for money.
View from the hotel is nice.
Be mindful you wil need a car to get around, since it is a bit outside of the populated areas. This was exactly what we were looking for but be aware of it. Plenty space to park your car free at the hotel.
We arrived earlier than check in and our rooms were ready. The weather was delightful and there are several locations to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful views. Dinner at the hotel was very good offered several price fix choices, as well as al la carte choices. A definite calming last night’s stay in France before heading to the airport in the morning.
Very convenient : Chateau-Thierry is not far from the A4 motorway. Ample parking in front of the building.
Pleasant location looking out onto the Marne river.
Newly renovated comfortable apartment, with decent size kitchen (well equipped) and a good size living room.
The hotel was what we needed. We rented the Apartment and it was enough space for my family of 4. The breakfast was good and it was located nicely to Paris and Belleau Wood. The elevator was small but nice to use.
Centrally located, yet quite quiet. Newly renovated kitchen and bath. Tidy. Stylish. Two separate bedrooms. Well-stocked kitchen with dishwasher. Netflix. View of Chateau-Thierry Monument from bedroom.
It is very convenient and useful for the vet before returning to UK with dog. This was the seventh time we have stayed at this hotel. Mostly this was before it became a Kyriad.
a very basic hotel, warm time of year so no air con was noticeable.
the receptionist was very warm and welcoming, she even opened the bar especially for us.
breakfast was Ok
An old style hotel with lots of character and charm, especially the ever helpful owner. Very central. Fascinating decor, antique furniture and bright colours.
