The hotel is in a quiet valley next to a rushing river, with a view of the Najac chateau on the mountain opposite. It feels like a remote wild setting, but is quite close to Najac. There is bar and restaurant seating at the front to sit and admire the view. Our room had the view as well. We enjoyed our dinner and breakfast at the hotel. The room was comfortable.
L'Oustal del Barry, located at the entrance to Najac, one of the finest villages in France, opens onto magnificent grounds and a fine kitchen garden

This place is especial. It is hidden in the middle of nowhere. Arriving using small countryside roads, Chantal was waiting for me till late. Her welcome was: Bonjour, you want a beer. 👍
The house is a with love restored old oil mill. Paul and Chantal bought it in the 80s in pieces. Every little spot in the house is showing memorabilia. All over the idea of the past. The most fascinating is the old mill stone in the middle of the saloon. A little almost adopted street dog has taken his slew place there. Start crawling the lady and she’s demanding more 🤪
The rooms are something, too. One can see how much effort Chantal put into the decoration of the two rooms. The smaller with a baldachin, tables, disc player if the 80s, records ( even older - the blues is in the air), the bigger one with a chimney, that old, one cannot imagine. The mattresses are quite comfortable, the bathrooms very ok.
I loved the breakfast club. It was super simple, prepared with a lot of love, aunt, Paul and I we were chatting a lot. He told me the story of the house and his life, and prepared a list of places I had to go and gosh, I enjoyed all these places he told me to go.
Outside in the garden, there is a dwell. Old is the house, deep that you can’t see the ground these kind of preserved things I really love in all houses.
If you’re ever in the area, don’t hesitate to visit them as long as they are still around
They are two wonderful people

Absolutely the best discovery we have made on our current trip around France! Super-comfortable, super-friendly, a spacious suite, an amazing view over a beautiful horizon (and the property's own immaculate garden). Add a welcoming and large pool, a good breakfast and total silence, and it’s perfect. And affordable. Highly recommended!
