Very comfortable hotel.
We loved the view from our balcony and the dining room, over the river towards the magnificent Pont Valantre. The staff are very attentive, lovely people. A special mention for the young man on reception [Rui?] who was very helpful.

Very well located, next to the Jean XXII tower. It was easy to park and for free.

Budget Ibis was chosen as it is next door to the standard hotel and was significantly cheaper. Not central but until 1900 there is free public transport into Cahors from outside the hotel. Plenty of car parking. Excellent bakery and coffee shop next door and another over the road. Fast food available very close by. Easy access to major roads to explore the area and the valley.

Was greeted by a lovely young woman who was helpful and engaging it's very pleasant... In these days of blankness to see someone interact.

Cahors has a great train station and plenty of buses.
Cahors has a great train station and plenty of buses. The town has everything you need and more. It is right on the River Lot. A great base to then explore vineyards, boating, beautiful villages. Cahors has a wonderful indoor market.

The Sat nav details on booking.com are still incorrect.
The Sat nav details on booking.com are still incorrect. Another guest complained about this on booking com in Sept 2021and hotel said they would correct it. Still not done. Makes for a stressful beginning to an otherwise good value overnight stay.

Cahors is a lovely old town which was great for an overnight stop. However, don't go on a Sunday or Monday as most places are closed, especially in the old town which was the part we were mainly interested in. Had a fab meal in L'Auberge restaurant in the old part of the town. We had to google restaurants that were open Sunday evenings and this came up. It was really lovely.

A mixed bag of history as well as awful functional modern box architecture from the 1970s -1990s. The main part of the historical centre is treelined and pleasant to sit. Great if you are a red wine buff.

We appreciated the friendliness of everyone we met.
We appreciated the friendliness of everyone we met. We are good French speakers which helps, but nevertheless many locals spoke some English! ( This is not always the case in some regions!)
The tourist office was especially helpful and staff in restaurants, shops and the hotel were all very welcoming to visitors.
The « Petit Train » was fun ( book in advance at the ticket office just a short walk riverside from the Best Western hotel) and this trip saved weary legs on day two!
A gastronomic centre!! Apart from duck, foie gras, and truffles on offer - the wonderful creamy Rocamadour cheese must not be missed! Not to forget the Malbec wine!
For a special treat lunch the Tourist Office recommended La Truite Dorée at Vers - great choice.
In town the Bistrot at the covered market provided an excellent value delicious lunch ( eg a huge Croq Monsieur with minced duck!!! ) and for something more elaborate go to the nearby Au fil des Douceurs. 🤩 Just by this resto is a very good cave au vins showcasing many local wines … the helpful and knowledgeable guy in the shop delivered our purchases to the hotel!
Only one small moan - the lack of prominent hôtel street signs in the town to help lost visitors. Our Sat nav did not understand where to cross the railway line!
Clean, comfy, the restaurant in the hotel is also open on a Monday (many restaurants in France are not) and the staff very friendly. Room with a view over the river was nice. Airco worked well. Place was quiet. We arrived at check in time at 3pm and we could get the free parking in front of the entrance to the hotel - great! Just FYI to others, at 6pm though the parking lot was full! Location is good if coming by car and it is about a 15min walk to get into the centre of town.

Fabulous art nouveau bathroom. Bedroom furniture and decor a little tired. Hotel very atmospheric of turn of century faded glamour. Staff very nice and accommodating. Breakfast fine and obligingly early as we had train at 7am. Have heard locals view restaurant as one of best in Cahors but too meat-based for us vegetarian/vegan couple. Really nice overall. Recommended.
lovely house and facilities, hosts very friendly and accommodating, breakfast on the terrace each morning was wonderful, and only had to walk 100m to watch TdF fly past. bit of a trek into centre of Cahors, but we knew that when we booked - also found there is a free bus service (no2) from just down the road that goes right into the centre of Cahors anyway.
The location of the hotel met our expectations, great view over the river and bridge. Easy walking distance to the town centre and market. Friendly staff let us check in a bit earlier as our room was ready. Free outdoor parking.
Room and bathroom spotless. We did not have the breakfast so can't comment on that.
Parking at the hotel was free. Nice view of the river and bridge with a balcony. They had a pool with the jets that you swim against for exercise. Water was a nice temperature. Didn't do breakfast but they had a bar that could serve smaller plates.
Ideal for a short stay. Compact accommodation, good use of space, comfortable bed, fluffy towels, kettle and tea/ coffee in the room. The hotel had a microwave and coffee machine available for guests. Secure parking with code access.
Great location near old town, within walking distance. Restaurant staff were very helpful with the menu, since we didn’t speak French. Breakfast and dinner were the best since being in France.
