Hôtel Le Derby, hotel in Cagnes-sur-Mer

In the heart of the French Riviera, this hotel offers spacious rooms with free Wi-Fi access, 800 metres from the beach. Guests are invited for a drink in the bar or on the hotel’s garden terrace.

The property is run by an AMAZING family, very helpful and so so lovely. They offered so much help when they heard my luggage was lost by the whole holiday and went above and beyond! the location is very good as it’s near a shop, nice restaurants and a 10 minute walk from a lovely pebble beach. It’s a 20 minute uber to the centre of nice and it was very easy to get ubers from the hotel. The garden is beautiful and they hold lovely small events with nice music. The rooms were lovely and had all necessities needed and enough charging ports which is normally an issue. The cleaning lady was lovely also and gave us extra towels when we asked. We were also given free cold bottles of water on arrival and when we were in the garden which was very sweet. Would 100% stay here again.

Hôtel L'Empreinte, hotel in Cagnes-sur-Mer

Hôtel L'Empreinte is situated a 4-minute drive from the beach a 5-minute walk from the Hippodrome.

It was a very pleasant experience of staying at the hotel L’Empreinte: the room and bathroom are very clean, the linen and towels are fresh, actually you have everything for your comfortable stay including a small fridge. Excellent location, very near to the center of Cagnes-Sur-Mer and within 5-minute walking distance to the train station. I am also giving 5 stars for the customers service and communication with the hotel staff. Saira, Vivienne (day receptionists) and Imad (night time receptionist) are all very polite and always ready to help you with solving any issue or enquiry. Actually I and my little daughter felt very secure with 24-hour reception service.

People are very friendly everywhere (except some bus drivers). Most people switch to English and are ready to help if necessary. The service is also very good everywhere. The place is not a party location, more for families and people who would like to have a quiet vacation. There are modern coffee places (Fragile, Copenhagen coffee lab) in addition to more traditional brasseries and boulangeries. Wine by glass is tasty but also very reasonably price everywhere.

Cagnes-sur- Mer is a thriving hub about 4 miles from Nice with train and bus connections to all the surrounding resorts and hill towns in the area. There are plenty of shops for food, a market and lots of restaurants. a free shuttle bus is available to take you to the hill village of Haut Cagnes, well worth a visit and there is also a free bus to the beach although lots of the local buses serve the beach too as well as it having its own station Cros de Cagnes. A ten minute walk brings you to the station.

It is a town which combines the promenade ( tourist area ) and a working town with lots of shops, market and bus and train stations. The town provided easy access to Vence and Nice. Those interested in Art and History will be delighted with Renoir’s house and the Grimaldi Palace in Cagnes-sur-Mer. The Matisse Chapel ( Vence ) and lots of musee in Nice. All within 30 minutes by bus or train.

We loved this apartment and our stay in Cagnes-sur-Mer.

We loved this apartment and our stay in Cagnes-sur-Mer. Fabienne is so kind and helpful. A minus is the noise from traffic and the airplanes, when the windows are open. The apartment is quiet when they are closed. Walking in C-s-M is easy and the beaches are very easy to reach, though the markets are pretty far away and you have to take a bus there. The buses are always awful crowded.

This village, although fairly developed, was quiet and less expensive to eat and drink out than Nice, Cannes and other locations nearby. However, prices are high generally on the French Riviera. There is a market once a week that was very nice, with a fair amount of local produce, and the atmosphere was great. We found all the bars and restaurants well apointed, and provided a good choice. There are many buses passing through the village, but again information on how to use the various routes was hard to find. Travel cards can be bought locally for €10 which give 10 single rides on the buses or trams - which is a must! One ride for any distance.

The room was really nice, upgraded by the hotel. Each room was named by an artist. Private entrance. Big windows, seaside view, mountain view and city view... Sofa, table and chair by the windows.. Books (Hemingway, Camus etc.) in the room. Good pillows, best beds. Best value for the money. Absolutely lovely chateau hotel. We want to come here again. Staff was so helpfull with everything. Our thanks for the valet.

Perfectly situated, with a view of the sea and with a outside terrace. Plenty of restaurants close by, bus stop outside for visiting Nice and Cagnes-sur-Mer centre. Swimming pool for you to use. Lovely apartment on first floor, catering for all our needs. Mr and Mrs Vidal, the owners, a marvellous couple who were helpful with advice.
