Raise your wine glass and toast to the beautiful city of Bordeaux on the banks of the Garonne River. Having produced wine since the 8th century, it’s fair to say the second largest wine producer in the world is worth the trip for the vin alone. The city itself has spread outwards, rather than upwards, and the result is a very pretty town centre, filled with stone mansions and terraced housing comparable to Paris.
Cultured Bordeaux is filled with museums such as the Museum of Contemporary Art and Musee D'Aquitaine. The streets provide an equally interesting exhibition of fine architecture including the Victory Arch and the Aquitaine Bridge.
On the shores of the river lies the Les Chartrons district, which is a blend of ferry boat rides, picturesque views and buzzing nightlife while the pubs and cafes in the La Victoire district are frequented by students.
A tour of the famous vineyards is probably on the itinerary and this can be accomplished by visiting the wineries and châteaux privately or as part of a tour. You can also worship the wine gods at the Bordeaux Wine Festival held during the summer.
Visitors can easily make the short trip to the heart of Bordeaux from the Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport. With 70 hotels and bed & breakfasts available, Booking.com allows you to discover the vibrant and friendly heart of the vineyard region.

Such history and preservation of fantastic buildings, yet modern and up to date transport, technology, commerce and an appreciation of the value of tourism, Very helpful local popullation, who, if they are, at times exasperated by the stream of tourists, do not show it. They are charming and accomodating in the extreme. It was such a pleasure to visit. I came last year as well!
Thank you

Tram system.
Tram system. Simple, comfortable, goes anywhere you like, affordable tickets. So many good eateries but avoid multi-tasking ones (one where clothing was part of it, the server never showed). Cite du Vin a must visit. The Boardwalk by Cite du Vin. Countless little squares with oodles of cafes and bars. To top it all off, one is in Bordeaux!

Bordeaux is a beautiful city with lots to see and do.
Bordeaux is a beautiful city with lots to see and do. Excellent direct Tram service from outside the aiport to the city centre which costs 1.80 Euros. Most of the main sights are easily accessible on foot.
I would recommend doing a walking tour. It is a great way to see the city and learn about the history and culture of the place and it's people. There are lots of lovely restaurants and cafes. I am coeliac which can be challenging while travelling but restaurant staff were generally knowledgeable and helpful and there are a few dedicated gluten free cafes. If you get the chance I would recommend visiting the Base Sous-Marine which was a German submarine bunker during WW2 but has now been converted into a fabulous exhibition space.
Great place to visit with friendly people.

Stunning architecture, beautiful pedestrian only areas in the main downtown. Easily walkable. Gorgeous public garden. Bus tour that gave an overview to the city was just right in terms of length and detail. Numerous charming shops and cafes. We also enjoyed the art museum.

YOU HAVE MADE A TERRIBLE MISTAKE WHICH YOU NEED TO CORRECT...
YOU HAVE MADE A TERRIBLE MISTAKE WHICH YOU NEED TO CORRECT ASAP. I just reviewed the Ibis Hotel Bordeaux and you included it in THE WRONG IBIS LISTING FOR BRUSSELS....I enjoyed that hotel very much. Your AI link or robot mixed up my bad review for Bordeaux and put it on the Brussels listing. THIS IS WRONG AND MUST BE FIXED.
Very clean and quiet location. A little too far from the centre as there's no close transport so car needed.
Great staff at reception, very helpful and decent in the restaurant although that young team seems to sometimes think it's home and not work place.
Some prices are disrespectful for such location away from the city centre: Tiramisu: 10 euros..
The breakfast has limited quantities and on offer, always short of scrambled eggs. Lunch is quite good and good atmosphere as workers nearby go there.
I feel like we got so lucky in our family of 6 being able to stay here. From beginning to end Guillaume made us feel so welcome. His recommendations and his aid in setting up rides was invaluable. The rooms were huge, very clean and well air conditioned. The wifi worked very well - which we learned throughout our time in France is not always the case. Everything about our stay in Bordeaux was perfect and I can’t recommend Les Seraphines enough.
The hotel provides basic accommodation near the centre of Bordeaux for a very reasonable price, as well as a restaurant that also serves breakfast. The bedrooms are very small, but functional. The main draw is the car park, which is convenient especially for travellers who want to stay in / near the city centre but would prefer to leave their car in a secure location; parking isn't cheap, but it makes your life a lot easier.
Very central location close to shops and the main sights. Easy walking to anywhere.
Building has an old world type feeling with modern amenities. It also is very conscious of environmental matters. Staff very helpful and tried their best even if some struggled to communicate in English (but hey, this is France!). Due to a late flight they very helpfully let us keep the room till mid afternoon. Thank you!
Beautiful apartment, very well equipped. Excellent shower, bathroom and new kitchen. Very quiet at night despite being on a busy street with a tram stop. A very nice supermarket and an excellent bakery close by. Very close to Jardins Public. City centre easily walkable or the tram stop is a short walk away. The owners were very nice and provided wine and water on arrival which was a nice touch.
The location is outside the City Center. It’s about a 3 euro tram ride to the centre and takes about eight or nine minutes which could easily walk if you don’t mind doing that. We return to Bordeaux week later and we decide to spend the extra 15 euro a night and found a spot located in the old quarter. It wasn’t quite as nice a hotel with the trade-off giving us a better location was worth it.
The hotel is very nice and in good location. The staff is great - Brahim and Perrine are very professional, friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice, modern and clean although small but this is quite normal in France. Tea and expresso coffe available in the rooms, so good!
Excellent cost-benefit in Bordeaux and would stay there again!
Breakfast was lovely and typically french hotel breakfast (which I totally love). I totally adored the staff. They were incredibly helpful, kind, and thoughtful. I speak french and they were totally gracious with me when I struggled with my words . . . (happens in france but I've lived in france and i press on in french regardless!)
I strongly recommend staying at the Life Bordeaux Hotel. Service is very kind and helpful, localization close to the train station on the way to the city center is another advantage. The ratio of price to quality is excellent, even the smallest room gives a feeling of comfort.
Very nice, comfortable B&B. Close to tram and within walking distance to city centre (long walk). Nice breakfast and very nice staff. The proprietors were very accommodating regarding an early checkin and they made me a breakfast for my very early departure for my flight.
- Straightforward to find for our overnight stop from
Spain to ferry crossing in France.
- secure car park
- Carrefour 2 minutes walk
- has a cafe in hotel for light meals and drinks
- park nearby to walk the dogs
- quite convenient to walk to bars and restaurants
Exceptional service, superb location and rooms.bathrooms are extremely large.
Cleo and Ahmed offer better service than you will receive at any 5 star hotel.
I would recommend anyone that wants a perfect stay in Bordeaux to stay at this property.
As many have said before, this hotel would be nothing without its incredible staff. I’ve yet to stay in a hotel in France with better staff. They are incredible. The music at night is superb. It’s funky with a great vibe.
I LOVED this hotel. Spacious comfortable room, beautifully decorated with French charm. Perfect central location. Great breakfast included. Very quiet, good ac and room darkening blinds. My new go to hotel for Bordeaux.
Very convenient hotel for our last night in France, closed to the train station, clean, and pet-friendly. The reception staff are all very nice, professional and welcoming.
