Lovely old house in rural edge of town, which has an excellent choice of restaurants . Marie is a very pleasant and friendly host.
We were not visiting Bernay. The hotel was an overnight stop avoiding Rouen centre hotels, and the cheap hotels in the surrounding suburbs. Most of which I find ghastly. We ate at the adjacent restaurant, as there was no obvious alternative in the immediate vicinity. An interesting if not inexpensive experience, but hey we're on holiday and would go there again.

Bernay is a lovely quiet town with all the amenities you will need. Be careful though on market days (we arrived on Saturday)the streets are closed to traffic until 3.30 . Would recommend the restaurants at the bottom of the main street very good food and lovely staff.
A great little hotel with a small but warm swimming pool which after a long drive was most welcome. Easy self check in system.
Beautiful room with large ensuite bathroom and full fridge in the room.
Fantastic breakfast, everything from boil you own egg, to hams, cheeses, yoghurts , jam, Croissant/rolls, fruit and juices.
Amazing value.
We also loved the old town of Bernay a great place to wonder round, lots of restaurants and independent shops. Didn't stay long but will definitely make it a destination another time.
This is a lovely bed-and-breakfast type of lodging in what was once a lovely home. It has large, safe, private parking, and is situated in a park-like atmosphere with a deck area and pool. The Lodge is close to downtown Bernay and walkable to restaurants. Our first night we were in a small room on the top floor, and the hostess graciously moved us to very large room a floor lower for our 2nd night. The breakfast is very good too. We would highly recommend.
The Hotel Le Lion D’Or has an old world charm and customer service wholly lacking from modern hotels. It’s in a lovely small village, centrally located in Normandy, with excellent restaurants and necessary shopping within a few short blocks. Train stations is also in walking distance. Locals were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are small, but the beds are comfortable. I would welcome a longer stay.
Our sat nav found the location easily and we were able to park close to the hotel entrance (coded entry for our time of arrival)..
The room was on the top floor up two flights of stairs.
It was comfortable with hot drinks if needed and we slept well. Breakfast and the breakfast room did not disappoint.
Foyer was well laid out and comfortable, The staff provided a coffee which was lovely. The restaurant which is a separate business but attached to the hotel was excellent - good food and good value. The room was compact but adequate. Nice shower.
Location was easy to find, on the hill as you enter the town of Bernay. Plenty of off-road parking. Spacious breakfast area and conservatory. Very comfortable and warm rooms and the bed was perfect, I managed 6 hours solid sleep which was a bonus.
Out of town hotel so very quiet with a restaurant in the car park, very convenient for onwards journey. Staff were friendly, pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was ok but not spectacular. Room was clean and comfortable and just about big enough
Safe parking, supermarket opposite (but quiet location), Bernay village with restaurants in walking distance - perfect for a stopover from Le Shuttle.
Bonus of a fridge with icebox - again, great when travelling on.
The hosts Jerome and Caroline were incredibly friendly and helpful during my stay. They made me want to come back and visit Bernay again. The bed was also very comfortable, especially after a long day of travel.
Bernay is a beautiful town, Maison Léontine is a short walk to the centre. It is tastefully furnished and spotless. A comfy bed and a wonderful breakfast made our stay memorable. Thanks Anne.
Parking outside window was good for security but in busier times not so good. The hotel was nearly empty during our stay and very quiet. Very good restaurant next door.
Hotel was smart, well maintained and clean. Good central location in the town. Staff were hardworking and polite. Our room was lovely with a spacious ensuite bathroom.
