A very happy, non English speaking lady checked me in with no problems! Room was ready early and she even took my luggage to the room while I was out for lunch. Seems like a family-owned, old-fashion hotel within walking distance to town and train/tram stations. It's about 25 minutes to Geneva and at 1/3 of the price!
The Château des Avenieres - Relais & Châteaux is located in the countryside between Annecy and Genève.

Staff were lovely. The grounds and the natural meadow flowers were beautiful. Building was very nice. We used the electric bike those are so much fun and we loved them. Badminton courts were great and we played most days. Sauna was great, steam room did not have much steam, gym was not very well equipped. Massage chair was good and we used that several times. Very interesting chapel. I was very glad we booked this.

The staff are very helpful and nice.
The location is great since it's close to Geneva, but you do need a car since the hotel is located off a highway, so it's quite far from restaurants or supermarkets if you aren't driving.
The rooms are quite comfortable. The Wi-Fi works pretty well, so you can do online meetings without any issues. There is free parking at the hotel and they have Tesla chargers.
There is a shopping center about 4 minutes driving down the highway from the hotel where they have some restaurants and a supermarket.
Driving to Geneva in the morning is not a problem, it takes about 20 or 30 minutes; but it can be stressful returning in the afternoon back from Geneva as there is a lot of traffic and it can take about 45mins to 1h during rush hour.
The room is very well isolated from external sounds, so you don't even hear the cars on highway.
Mercure Annemasse Porte De Genève is a 15-minute drive from Geneva. Located between lakes and mountains, it offers comfortable accommodations and free parking.

Regardless of all the other excellent things in this hotel, I also made a mistake during the reservation and they were ready for any change and very open to cooperation, they were very understanding and flexible.

A good placement when you are just passing.
A nice terrace to spend time, but a bit loud with the road next to it.
The hotel is extremely convenient, just seconds off the motorway heading south towards the Mont Blanc tunnel.
It is also located at a suitable distance coming from the South of England, which means that it is reached comfortably with a 9.30-10am Eurotunnel crossing.

The location was just off the motorway, so it was easy to find and convenient. The continental breakfast was simple.. No frills, but none the less good.
Don't confuse this with the Ibis Budget around the corner. It looks like a much better option. One for next time...
