The hotel very presentable, maybe 10 - 15 minutes from the center (walking), not very close to the beach. Easy to park the car there. The staff is very nice, I think is the best think about the hotel. Very attentive and kind.

Arcachon is a French resort on the Atlantic coast, about 55 km from the city of Bordeaux. Known for its oyster farms, Dune of Pyla, the long sandy beaches and the Victorian houses, this seaside city is a perfect holiday destination.
Set among the ocean and a pine forest, the breathtaking Great Dune of Pyla is the tallest sand dune in Europe. Reaching a height of about 107 metres and a length of 3 km, this natural miracle is a massive hill ideal for paragliding.
Popular for its oyster production, Arcachon was home to one of the first farms opened in 1849. Today about 60% of the oysters in France come from this region. Visit a waterside restaurant and savour delicious oyster dishes accompanied by a glass of fine French wine.
The Landes forest is the biggest maritime pine forest in Europe, filled with a wonderful natural park with cycle paths. Booking.com will help you find the right hotel, apartment or holiday home in the area of Arcachon.
Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport is in the small town of Mérignac. The airport has flights to big cities like Dublin, Barcelona, London and Lisbon.
Arcachon is an attractive town close to water. There are plenty of restaurants and shops although perhaps a little expensive especially for families. There are a couple of small supermarkets if you are self catering but again are quite expensive. Parking is not easy to find so pre booked parking is probably a good idea if you have a car with you. The train station is easy to find although we didn’t use it. Local roads are busy and very slow with lots of speed bumps and 30kmh speed limits.

Arcachon (despite our accommodation) was fabulous.
Arcachon (despite our accommodation) was fabulous. It's very chic with wonderful, stylish shops (Dune Blanches for delicious beignets, Savon de Marseilles and numberous well known clothing stores) and a lovely esplanade overlooking the beach. Countless lovely cafes. Great atmosphere. Other beaches are nearby. We had excellent seafood in restaurants, specifically Chez Pierre (plateau de Fruits de Mer) which were not cheap but to be expected in a tourist location overlooking the sea. The overall standard was very high and the town is smart and clean. A lovely coastal drive takes you to the famous Dune de Pyla with superb beach accesses along the way.
We definitely wanted to stay longer (in another apartment or hotel). We stayed at the end of May/beginning June (sadly for a weekend only) and are glad we avoided the high season which we believe gets very busy. Fabulous and can't wait to go back.

Very charming place.
Very charming place. It has a good train connections to Bordeaux and Bordeaux Airport. You can plan a trip to Dune du Pilat or Cap Ferret while in Arcachon.
Be aware that there is no currency exchange in the whole town and surrounding areas. The closest one is in Bordeaux.

Arcachon is a rather unique bay, very worth visiting.
Arcachon is a rather unique bay, very worth visiting. It has great nature and wildlife (birds), in addition to interesting early 20th century architecture. The area is quaint and good humored with lots of families staying and visiting the area. Access can be congested during rush hour and on top vacation days! The food is outstanding, both in restaurants (we recommend Le Saint Ferdinand! Great seafood!) and at local food stores and bakeries!
Climbing the Dune du Pilat is a must with phenomenal 360 degr. views!
The boardwalk in Arcachon proper along the bay is gorgeous!

Attractive location and a good place to stay.
Attractive location and a good place to stay. We wanted to visit Bordeaux but didn’t want to stay in the city. Arcachon has a good regular service by train into the city and this suited us well.
You need to know that boat trips around the bay have to be booked in advance and will cancel your booking if there are too few passengers. We didn’t manage to get a successful booking.
Arcachon is a seafood paradise for those wanting oysters, crustaceans and fish. It’s also more expensive, we assumed because it’s a tourist haven.
The apartment was very nice and cosy, and had everything we needed, and apart from the dining chairs it was very comfortable. We didn't use the outdoor space to sit, because of the very hungry mosquitos. There was a mosquito-spray available at the apartment, which was a welcome surprise.
TIP: if you don't travel with a car: rent a bike for a few days, because walking to the shops and beach can be tiring when you do it too often.
The Villa was beautiful, of and set amidst the unique Victorian architecture neighborhood of Arcachon. The hostess was so friendly and kind, and despite us not speaking each other's languages very well, we understood each other just fine and she did everything to make our stay even more comfortable. The room was clean, comfortable, and it was just a delight to stay here. Would definitely come back again!
Hot summer nights offset by airco - yippee! Internet connectivity was extremely poor quality and that’s a no-no. Location was great! Breakfast was poor quality in a dining area that was shabby. Rooms are extremely small. An Airbnb would have been nicer and cheaper but probably no airco - so for extreme heat, head to the Roc hotel & get some sleep at nights
We really enjoyed the location of the hotel (close to the train station, the buses to go to the beach or Dune du Pyla), and the city centre of Arcachon. Breakfast was good but a bit overpriced, staff were very nice and helpful. Rooms were clean, AC and good room amenities.
We slept really well, bed was comfortable and quiet place.
location was great. the gentleman on reception was brilliant, gave perfect direction for the secure car park and couldn’t have been more helpful. the room was spacious and light, overlooking the square. a short stay but excellent one. highly recommend this hotel, thanks
What a lovely facility. Our suite was an apartment with nice furnishings, a fabulous balcony and only one building off from the beach. It was completely walkable to the beach, the beautiful architecture of Arcachon, shops, etc. I would love to return!
Very friendly staff who were always happy to help. Lovely location 200 metres from the beach in Arcachon on a nice street. Beds were very comfy and the shower was lovely. Breakfast was excellent. Hotel has a nice ambiance and is very clean.
Although my room wasn't great, the overall hotel was outstanding. We spent so much time in the pool and spa and loved every minute. It was so relaxing which we needed. Excellent breakfast as well. Very luxurious property.
Loved the location, loved the hotel. Beds were so comfy. Staff were so friendly and helpful. The town closed the entrance to their parking lot, so they gave us vouchers to keep in our car for parking charges.
Excellent hotel, a half hour walk to the town centre but only 10 minutes from the restaurants at Aiguillon, the fishing port end of town. Out of season it was quiet, with free on-street parking available.
the hotel is off the main drag in a very quiet quaint part of town close to the sea. GREAT coffee machines in the rooms and using all compostable recyclable packaging for their in room amenities.
Quaint, old fashioned style hotel within walking distance of train station, centre of town, and beach. Very pleasant atmosphere with pleasant staff. Good breakfast.
