We loved the 18th century house (if I am not mistaken) and how it was converted into a hotel. Everything was clean, tidy, and handpicked. There is plenty of parking space and the hotel has its own restaurant and bar. There was a DJ night when we arrived and we were initially worried it would keep us up at night, but the walls are so thick and the windows have double glass that we didn't hear anything.

It’s a bustling city that’s full of stylish shops, cafes & restaurants. There are beautiful buildings, art galleries and museums throughout the city. We did the Cezanne trail (using the brass plaques embedded in the pavements) & a free Guru walk which was excellent. We also took a short bus ride just outside of the city centre to see where Cézanne painted his famous views of the mountain. Well worth visiting.

Aix is tourist orientated based around shopping and eating / drinking, which tends to overshadow the history and beauty of the buildings and streets. Some very posh shops coincide with street markets and the more bohemian traders in small shops dotted around the town.
There is food everywhere, though I never understand the French fascination with Pizza when their own produce is so good. It can be expensive around the main streets especially if you want to be "seen".
With great connections to the surrounding area with a fab bus station and railway station and its own TGV station (via bus link) it is easy to explore the wider region. There seems to be a "dial a bus" service for those with mobility issues which uses small electric vehicles to move you around - not something I used, but worth looking into.
There is a fountain on (almost) every junction, beautiful buildings and a cleanliness about the place.
It can be noisy at night as the bars fill up, but don't complain, just join in.....

A lovely French city that's a little smaller than most, in a good way. There always seems to be a market on somewhere to discover and there's always a little cafe or bar within site.
The main strip is very nice to walk down and then the old quarter is exciting to investigate.

Aix en Provence is just as french it can be, so nice, not too busy, we loved strolling in the centre, through the cours Mirabeau and the small cobbled streets. Our perfect apartment Cosy place was so close by, we loved that apartment so much! The markets were incredible, Several days a week there is a market, the biggest is on saturday, through the whole centre. The food on the market is gooood! I loved the supermarket Monoprix, it has all, even clothing. You should try the delicatesse calissons, sweet, but oh so tasty! and of course, do visit a lavender field! If you have a car its so nice to drive through close by towns. There is a small train that goes through the centre and gives a short view on the historic part. Its worth it. Also worth visiting are the musea!

Beautifully city full of history and charm.
Beautifully city full of history and charm. Open air markets along Cours Mirabeau a highlight. Art museums aplenty, Granet Museum with the Jean Planque collection including many Picasso pieces is a 'must see'. Diverse range of high street shops combine with small boutiques in the centre of town. Countless restaurants and bars serving mostly French and European cuisine. It felt safe, warm and welcoming.

Beautiful city with both historical and contemporary offerings. Large variety of restaurants from classic French Brasserie to Japanese contemporary! Shopping from couture to high street, museums and Spas. Prices are significantly up since 2022 so be informed prior to travelling. When it’s hot, one needs transport to escape to the sea or the beautiful villages of the local countryside

This was a lovely, clean, comfortable little hotel at a very good location in Aix. The room, bed, and bathroom were all a good size, as well as new and clean, exactly as pictured. The breakfast was good and the staff friendly. It has a lovely roof top area where you can take your drink. During my stay, there was an art exhibition in the lobby/breakfast area. I really enjoyed my stay and highly recommend it.
The location could not be better for us as the train station was right across the street. The room was very clean, nicely decorated and the staff were extremely friendly. The buffet breakfast was more than you get at most hotels and everything was fresh and tasty. Front desk staff and breakfast room staff were exceptional. We will definitely rebook the next time we visit Aix en Provence.
Wonderful period building beautifully decorated. The property is conveniently located in the center of Aix en Provence. It feels more like an upscale Bed & Breakfast than a boutique hotel. Anthony and Margherita are wonderful and helpful hosts. I was given what I believe to be the best room in the building. Very spacious with Nespresso machine. Lovely spacious bathroom
La Bastide de Ganay is more a guest house than a Hotel with excellent breakfast, but no lunch or dinner options (best is to drive to Aix).
La Bastide de Ganay has 2 pools and is an extremly relaxing place.
Very nice hotel and very friendly people. We enjoyed our stay and the location of the hotel is great for visiting aix en provance. We would certainly select it again.
