The hotel was perfect and excellent value for money. We opted for a room without breakfast as we don’t always eat first thing but was able to walk out when we was ready and get food from local bars within minutes.
We have a sea view room with a balcony, which offered lovely views of coastline.
The hotel was situated in a quiet location along the sea front but within easy walking distance to beautiful coastal paths for long walks and to local bars and restaurants.
The hotel was pristine! The room was lovely and extremely clean, beds comfortable and had all amenities within the hotel we needed.
If you wanted to walk to the main centre that was achievable but for those lazy nights you can get a taxi for around 6 euros if you’ve been walking all day.
We went on some beautiful walks either side of the hotel with stunning views of the coastline and little bars and cafes along the way.
Staff at the hotel couldn’t be anymore helpful giving us pool towels, booking is taxis and also giving us umbrellas to borrow on rainy days so we could still go out and explore.
Santander was such a beautiful place to stay! I’ve never been to anywhere that’s so clean. The beaches are cleaned everyday, the pavements did not have no spec of rubbish, beautiful parks all around and catered well for those who like to walk with promenade’s and walking paths.

Dog friendly, although like most of Spain, they aren't allowed in any public areas. Good breakfast, which we took separately.
It's good to have private parking. We parked in the indoor car park. Access and spaces are tight. There's also an outdoor car park.

Airport shuttle service easy to find and cheap. Many hostels near bus terminal and cheap dormitories. Beach within walking distance from bus terminal. Dog-friendly. As a single woman you can be out near bus terminal with no problems, felt safe. Local busses cheap. Bus to Bilbao only 7,70 Euros. I really enjoyed Santander.

An interesting place to relax and discover the culture of the northern part of Spain, a safe city. Excellent cuisine famous for tapas/pintxos e.g. in the market in the city centre. Lots of parks and green spaces, friendly people. The Cabo Faro lighthouse is worth a visit, there are the beaches and their lively bustle, the Magdalena peninsula and the market in the centre of town, where you can enjoy a great meal. Lots of museums to visit.

A handsome, friendly city which is undoubtedly underrated as a destination. Safe, clean, lots of varied sights, beautiful coastal walks right from the city centre. Inexpensive! Superb prehistoric museum. Bring a jacket / umbrella, it's cooler and wetter than elsewhere in Spain. Note: it is a very monolingual area: other than in hotels and the occasional individual in a shop or cafe, most people there speak ONLY Spanish!

This was our 3rd visit to Santander in 12 months. For £31 per person return flights from the UK, it is cheaper than staying at home.
Santander is a vibrant, fun and energetic city with plenty to occupy any visitor. The food options are to many to count and the bars are fun and friendly through the evening.

I saw lots of reviews recommending this town. It was not for me. The planetarium, which many raved about? Closed. Has been closed for a while, actually. And apparently when it was open, it wasn't open to walk-ins. Tour groups only, pre-booked, minimum of 5 people.
Many restaurants were reservation only, actually. Many more were closed.
Saw my first homeless tent encampment ten minutes after arriving in the city. Graffiti everywhere. So many ATMs on Google maps, marked closed. Shops closed or going out of business. "Rebajas" signs everywhere. So many multi-lingual beggars.
Lots of smashed windows, sadly. The town looked like some of the worse areas of other cities I've been to, but all over. Even the church, which was recommended as a very nice building, had homeless and beggars in it. I was there on Sunday (so many things closed) and Monday. For a place supposedly well known for it's meals of fresh fish, mine was bland at best. For a Spanish town, surprisingly few tapas places.
This is as the name suggests is a small hotel but big on style. The room was perfect for a short stay comfortable bed, quality shower room, adequate storage for clothes and a safe. Lovely breakfast room with a good choice of fresh fruit, breads, croissant, cheese and meats and a choice of teas and coffees. A good start to the day. The location is great for the vast beach and costal walks. Excellent bus service into the city centre.

Modern and very clean rooms. Big bathroom with 2 sinks. Tasty national breakfast. You can make coffee or tea 24/7 at the breakfast line. Superb location near beautiful park of pines, and very close to El Sardinero beach. Hotel staff was careful and kind. Even if you will meet any questions or problems during your vacation in Santander, hotel staff will do everything to help you and answer all your questions. Especially big thanks to Jorge and Lara. Suite Home Pinares is definitely the best place to stay in Santander!!!
The hotel is conveniently located a bit outside the centre of Santander (just over 1 mile), directly by the beach (street between hotel and beach).
The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is very good.
The rooms could be a little bit bigger but after all we weren’t there to just stay in the room but to explore the area.
Contrary to the information by booking.com the parking was free (white zone).
There are frequent buses 50 m from the hotel into Santander downtown.
Overall we enjoyed our stay a lot
The hotel is in a truly wonderful position overlooking the beautiful beach with fantastic views every way you look. The bedroom was big with a huge comfortable bed with a great balcony for those views. There was also a great bathroom with a huge shower area. The staff were so lovely and helpful, always greeting us as we passed through reception, particularly Lara who gave us plenty of information about the locality and looked after any requests we had. We would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Santander.
The place was spacious with a big bedroom and a nice living-room with a sofa bed, a television and a kitchen with a microwave and a hub. There was also a terrace of a decent size. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The location is great, just a minute away from Playa del Sardinero, the best beach in Santander. Within walking distance there are plenty of restaurants and bars, some of them with views to the beach. I will not hesitate to return to this hotel if I'm back to Santander. Excellent stay!
First I really liked the easy to use underground parking facility accessed via a lift. The reception staff were welcoming and the porter took our cases to our room. The room was larger than expected, with sufficient storage space for our clothes. The bed was large and comfortable. Good WiFi. Quiet. The breakfast has a good range of hot and cold foods. Meals in the cafeteria are also good. Hotel is situated by the beach. Plus there are bars and restaurants nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Staffed reception is a bonus and very helpful. Well priced for Santander. Reasonable location about a mile from town walking through a road tunnel, or half a mile from the large beach in the other direction. Cafe, bar and restaurant on the ground floor of the building is excellent for breakfast or evening meals. The hotel is actually the first floor of an private apartment block.
Excellent hotel, situated in a family palace in reaching distance of the Santander area. The hotel was beautifully decorated, the rooms were great as well as the common areas, including a pool with great views over the valley. We also had great dinner and breakfast in the property. Staff were very friendly and helpful. One of the top hotels we stayed in through our road trip through Spain.
The hotel was nearby the beach and parking was easy. The room was small for two people. There was no milk of you wanted a cup of tea during the day. Staff were excellent and helpful and took a real price in good service. The cops were used in day one on our room were not washed and replaced the next day when the room was made up. Breakfast was adequate and a good variety.
The location was great. The hotel is nice you feel the history of the place. But I wouldn’t say it’s a 5 stars GL. The service is not 5 stars GL. Rooms are clean, big but a bit outdated. Showers were recently renovated and very nice and comfy, really liked it. The breakfast was good. The view from our room was stunning ! This is something we really enjoyed.
Incredible stay at the Gran Hotel Victoria and Santander. Well kept hotel, very clean and tidy, large balcony/terrace and views were brilliant. Staff were incredibly helpful and will definitely be back. Location was exceptional, 2 minute walk to el Sardinero beach, 15 minute walk to Magdalena Palace and 25 minutes to the old town.
